Every year, several people are electrocuted while using portable electric tools and equipment.

Mild
burns to electrocution are among the injuries sustained. Electric shocks caused by alternating currents
(ac) at power line frequency traveling through the body of an average adult from hand to foot for 1
second can have a wide range of effects, ranging from barely noticeable at 1 milliampere to complete
loss of voluntary muscular control for up to 1 second. Current ranges from 9 to 25 milliamperes. Higher
currents, ranging from 75 milliamperes to 4 amperes, can produce ventricular fibrillation in the heart, as
well as sudden cardiac arrest at higher currents. When employees come into contact with electrically
charged parts, they are hurt.

This study seeks to offer the most effective answer to the problems. The foundation for the safe
and reliable operation of industrial and commercial electric power systems is proper installation, quality
assurance with acceptance testing, and good operating and maintenance programs, as well as re-
evaluating qualified and unqualified employees according to the solution we will propose.

All countries' electrical safety standards should be consulted and included when assessing the
workplace for electrical hazards, developing electrical safety and energy control programs and
procedures, selecting all required PPE, and identifying electrical safety training requirements for
qualified and unqualified personnel. When these policies and standards are followed, employers can
provide a safe working environment for their employees.

intro

the objective of this study is to ascertain the importance of electrical maintenance practices and 
to identify the protective equipment to use for the safety of electrical worker with the help of
the IEEE – maintenance, operations and safety of industrial and commercial power systems.
The researcher used a qualitative research approach in order to accomplish the objective of the study.
Qualitative research is a type of research that explores and provides deeper insights into real-world
problems. To further conceptualized the study, researcher also made use of the internet as a research
tool.

The findings of this study would be beneficial for individuals, especially for the engineers, electrician and
workers in a company. Furthermore, this study will provide various ways and standard to avoid or
reduce hazards that can be encountered in a workplace.

the electrical maintenance practices that have an effect on safety

This project will explore the maintenance, operations and safety of industrial and commercial power
system, as well as hazard analysis, protective devices, and the significance of maintenance and safety for
systems, workers and the facilities.
