Delivery and storage

ate Fuge N is delivered in 20kg bag in white, grey, beige, bahama beige, stella, manhattan, brown, jasmine, pergamon, crocus,
anthracite, caramel.
Can be stored dry and in original sealed bags for at least 12 months.

Working instructions
1- Watchpoints

The grout Sate Fuge N is only coloured with cement fast colour pigments. Following points must be observed:
- mix the grouts with the prescribed amout of water
- apply the grouts after the complete drying of the thin bed or thick bed adhesives
For several reasons, which are due to the large variety of tiles and stones and to some extent to the local circumstances, we can
not assume any guarantee for a uniform colouration.

2- Preparation of substrates

When the tile adhesive has hardened, scratch out the joint to a sufficient depth and clean surfaces. Set of adhesive must have
come to an end to avoid discolourations. Absorbent substrates shall be prewetted with water thoroughly.

3- Mixing

Mix 20 kg Sate Fuge N in 7.4 – 7.0 litres water according to the required consistency for walls or floors.

4- Application

The quantity of mixed joint mortar should not exceed the quantity that can be used within 2 -1 hours. Prepare the total quantity
required for one surface in a single mix to avoid different mixing ratios. Apply the grout with a rubber squeegee (walls) or grouting
trowel (floors) into the joints in cross or in diagonal direction. After a few minutes apply some more grout material in order to level
uneven spots. Swing the squeegee or the trowel in diagonal direction for the removal of residue.
Do not fill expansion, connection or movement joints with Sate Fuge N. Once the grout residue takes a pale shade and starts
drying (approx. 15 to 30 min.), wipe clean the whole surface with a wet sponge. In case of grouting stoneware, the drying will last
longer. Provide for sufficiently wet aftertreatment within 24 hours. Use household cleaners after 14 days.

substrates such as concrete, cement screed, anhydrite screed, light- weight or aerated concrete, paperfaced gypsum boards. Bonding
ceramic tiles on heated floor, cement screeds or concrete bonding new tiles on old ones (indoors) bonding of insulation boards on
walls (outdoors) and their coating prior to the application of a synthetic textured plaster.

Properties
Sate Ready Fix is a ready for use tile adhesive and resistant to weathering, heat and frost after curing. It is suitable for indoor and
outdoor application but not for areas permanently under water. For dry and temporarily slightly moist substrates. Suitable for external
walls.
Main features:
For indoors (walls and floors) For outdoors (only walls)
High bonding strength Non sag
Delivery and storage
Sate Ready Fix is delivered in 8 kg and 20 kg plastic buckets. Keep broken containers tightly closed after use. Can be stored cool
(until down 10- °C) and in original sealed packing for at least 12 months.

Working instructions
1- Preparation of substrates
The substrate as well as the material to be bonded may be dry or temporarily slightly moist but must be solid, level, load bearing
and dimensionally stable. Remove loose parts as well as dust and dirt. Remove oil, grease residues of form work oil and wax
with Satex F. Any important unevenness must be levelled with Sate Ready Fix. The levelling layer must have cured before starting
the bonding work. Gypsum substrates must be roughened and primed with Satex TG. Gypsum fibre boards and sandy or dusty
substrates require a stabilization with Satex TG.
2- Application
Use a stainless toothed trowel or scraper for the all over application with a thickness of the layer of up to approx. 3 mm. Always
apply the amount of adhesive that allows the bonding of tiles during the time available for application. Firmly lay introduce the
material to be bonded into the adhesive, press it onto the substrate while aligning immediately. The use of spacers is not required
but for extreme cases when bonding heavy slabs. We recommend to prewet highly absorbent substrates or to reduce their
absorbency with the solvent free primer Satex TG. Immediateley remove any residues with a moist sponge from tiles, slabs etc.
Clean tools with water immediately after use. Satex Ready Fix allows to bond new tiles to old tiles. The old tile surface is cleaned
from dirt, soap residues and grease with Satex F and afterwards requires a bonding coat of Sate Ready Fix diluted with water to
allow application by brush. As soon as the bonding coat has dried, the new tiles can be bonded with Sate Ready Fix according
to the thin bed method.
3- Grouting
oints between ceramic tiles are filled after 1 to 5 days with one of our plastic modified cement based grouts Sate FugeN, or Sate
Fuge Flex. Larger continous surfaces require a protection from cracking by connection or expansion joints with an elastomeric
joint sealant such as Satex SLX.
4- Watchpoints
Sate Ready Fix is an emulsion adhesive containing a certain amount of water. The formation of the whole bonding strength
requires the complete evaporation of the water. This evaporation rate depends upon the air temperature, the thickness of the
adhesive layer, the absorbency of the substrate and the porosity material to be bonded. When bonding new tiles to old ones
(particularly in case of non absorbent stoneware tiles), for instance, and when more
moisture is coming off for any reason, a drying of the adhesive might not be expected even after weeks.

Area of applications
Satex S is used for the protection of facades and other vertical or highly inclined surfaces against penetrating moisture (driving
rain). It is good for the treatment of concrete elements to provide a protection against frost and deicing salts as well as against lime
efflorescences due to the influence of rain and humidity.

Properties
Moist spots, penetration of moisture through walls, salt efflorenscence, lime washout, damage due to frost, growth of moss and
impurities are damage for buildings, the main cause of which is penetrating moisture. The penetration of moisture through building
materials due to driving rain can be efficiently prevented by water repellent substances such as silanes, siloxanes or acrylic resins that
penetrate deeply into the building material and tie themselves permanently by reaction. Satex S is a solvent containing, colorless and
hydrophobic impregnating agent on siloxane base with the following characteristic features which are important for its performance
and durability; low molecular weight hence, high power of penetration into the substrate suitable for highly alkaline substrates tack
free after drying.

Delivery and storage

Satex S is delivered in 5 l, 17 l pails (net contents). Can be stored dry and cool (not above °30+C) and in original sealed packing
containers for at least 12 months.

Working instructions

Apply Satex S undiluted with a spray diffuser (such as our high capacity spray diffuser) upto the saturation of the substrate. Smaller
surfaces are treated by painting with a soft white wash brush or a flat bristle brush. A flooding application is required. For highly
absorbent substrates, two or even three applications are required. Treat slightly absorbent surfaces only once. In case of very dense
substrates, it is appropriate to wash the fresh impregnation with solvents (for instance thinner T). This will remove any exceeding
active ingredients from the surface and transport them to more absorbent surface areas such as mortar joints. Warm weather and
dry substrates will enhance the depth of penetration. After drying for appr. 24 hours, hydrophobyic impregnations with Satex S can
be painted with water borne or solvent containing paints.
Watchpoints

Cover glass surfaces as well as window and door frames, for the removal of splashes will be very time consuming after drying.
Protect plants with foils. Synthetics must be compatible with the solvents. Clean tools with thinner T or gasoline. Avoid fire and
mask in case of insufficient ventilation. Change soiled clothes as soon as possible.

free from cracks. Any further prior treatment in addition to prewetting with water is not required for absorbent substrates such as
concrete, cement facing, sand lime and clay bricks, hollow block masonry with full cement mortar joints. Prewetting depends upon
the moisture content of the substrate.
Mixing
Satex DSS is mixed with water. A small quantity of water or gauging liquid is first added. It should be mixed until an even, lump free
mortar is achieved. Then the remaining water or gauging liquid is added and mixed, until a slurry or trowel consistency is achieved.
All powder particles should be mixed. Mixing time: 3 minutes
Mixing equipment:electric drill with attached paddle or compulsory type mixer.
The material mixed at one time must be not exceed the amount that can be applied within 2 hours at °20+C.
Application
Apply according to the slurry method with mason›s brush. A waterproofing layer is achieved in at least 2 full cover coats. Observe
the minimum layer thickness specified in the following table in accordance with the anticipated water sollicitation. After preparing
the substrate the first layer of Satex DSS is always applied by mason›s brush intensively and at full cover (consumption approx.2.0
kg/m2). The second coat should be applied when the first one cannot be longer damaged: either after 6 hours at the earliest at
°20+C or after 24 hours at the latest. In order to guarantee that the material will dry without tension the consumption should not
exceed 3 kg/m2 per operation. Satex DSS should not be applied to frozen substrates, during frost or at high tempeatures (over
°30+C substrate temperature). The freshly applied coats should be protected for 3 days from drying out too quickly (e.g. sun,
draught) and from rain. Satex DSS high inherent strength and can be coated with paints or receive ceramic tiles or gypsum free
mortar after 3 days.
Watchpoints
Surfaces which have been coated with Satex DSS must be protected from damage. Before filling the building pit protective boards
(e.g. drain boards) should be installed. A protective layer (e.g. screed or tiles) is to be applied to the waterproofed horizontal
surfaces if they are subject to pedestrian traffic. For the waterproofing of the joints, an appropriate flexible or elastomeric sealant
must be used. As a rule, the waterproofing of structure requires the application of the slurry to the surface exposed to the water
(positive stress).
