Calibration
When replacing an Access 1 2 3® module or updating
Access 1 2 3® software, the lift truck must be
calibrated. The items that follow are the necessary
calibrations:
• If replacing Access 1, calibrate the steer sensor
feedback (RPS1) on lift trucks equipped with elec- Enhanced Display with CDM

Display Description
NO BATTERY RETAINER The battery retainer switch is open. Make sure that the battery retainer is in-
stalled correctly.
CYCLE FOOT PEDALS Release and then apply the foot pedals.
ENTRY BAR Apply and then release the entry bar.
LEFT PEDAL Release and then apply the left foot pedal.
RIGHT PEDAL Release and then apply the right foot pedal.
REDUCE TRAVEL SPEED The travel speed is too high for the lift truck and the load. Decrease the lift truck
travel speed.
LOW BATTERY LIFT CUTOUT The battery charge is low. Charge the battery.
CHAIN SLACK The lift truck senses slack in the chain. Raise the mast to tighten the chain.
UNATTENDED MOVEMENT The lift truck moved without an operator present.
CUTOUT, USE OVERRIDE The mast is at the height cutout. Use the override switch to raise the mast higher
than the height cutout.
HEIGHT CUTOUT STOP The mast is at the height cutout. The mast cannot go higher than the height
cutout. Lower the mast below the cutout.
CENTER HAND CONTROL The multi-task control handle is not in the center. If the multi-task control handle
is in the center when this message occurs, then do the calibration steps in CAL-
IBRATION MENU/C1.
TRAVEL OVERTEMP The temperature of the traction motor (M1) is too high. Turn off the lift truck. Let
the M1 cool.

LIFT OVERTEMP The temperature of the hydraulic pump motor (M2) is too high. Turn off the lift
truck. Let M2 cool.
CENTER PEDAL Release and then apply the center foot pedal.
STEER OVERTEMP The temperature of the steer motor (M5) is too high. Turn off the lift truck. Let
M5 cool.
Access 3™ OVERTEMP The temperature of Access 3™ is too high. Turn off the lift truck. Let Access 3™
cool.
ACCESS 2 OVERTEMP The temperature of Access 2 is too high. Turn off the lift truck. Let Access 2
cool.
ACCESS 5 OVERTEMP The temperature of Access 5 is too high. Turn off the lift truck. Let Access 5
cool.
ACCESS 8 MODULE OVER The temperature of Access 8 is too high. Turn off the lift truck. Let Access 8
TEMPERATURE cool.
ACCESSORY MOTOR OVER The temperature of the accessory motor is too high. Turn off the lift truck. Let

PM DUE, LIFT CUTOUT Do a PM on the lift truck. If the lift truck is not due for a PM, make sure that the
HOURS Menu H9 PM TIMER is set correctly.
CHECK LOAD The load is too heavy or is not distributed correctly. Correct the load condition.
PLEASE STAND BY Wait for the lift truck software to complete loading.
REMOTE MODE ACTIVE The remote mode is active.
REKEY ON LEVEL Move the lift truck to a level floor. Turn off the lift truck. Then turn on the lift truck.
EPS EWS The battery or fuel cell has a critical error that will result in the EPS cutting
power.
REFUELING The EPS detects a charger is connected to prevent the lift truck from driving
away during the refueling or charging operation. This message clears when the
refueling or charging operation is complete and the EPS is ready for normal
operation.
PARAMETERS MODIFIED The lift truck settings were changed.
WARM UP CYCLE ACTIVE The lift truck is warming up for express lower operation (1–3 min). The raise and
lower functions are disabled.
