Evaluation of a Corporate-Societal Relationship

Introduction

A business evaluation is a comprehensive investigation and review of the entire company. It is

carried out to establish the general condition and operation before the owner sells it to a potential

buyer. In today's dynamic and varied world, a company's success is dependent on its ability to

respond quickly to changing circumstances. It has become vital to evaluate and improve

corporate performance. Developing indicators and criteria for measuring and evaluating

corporate performance have been gradual. Traditional company performance indicators have

been criticized, which should be considered. On the other hand, modern business performance

indicators have been developed with an emphasis on controlling the company's value. When

analyzing business success, the company's character should be considered, as should signs that

lead to fulfilling the company's objective.

In my research and interpretations of corporate societal ties, I prefer to use Microsoft as

an example of a Fortune 500 company. Microsoft is a software company that was invented in

1975. Its aim is to generate technology that changes the way doing tasks and exchange

information, assisting people and companies worldwide to reach their full potential. They

manufacture and distribute software and hardware as well as services which add consumers with

additional opportunities with greater conveniences and values. Microsoft is a global company

with offices installed approximately in 100 countries. It makes cash by constructing, licensing,

and sustaining various software goods and services, building and selling hardware, and

delivering relevant web publicizing to a worldwide consumer base.

Company's Primary Products and Services

Microsoft offers a variety of goods and services. Personal computers Operating systems,

servers, mobile handset, and other intelligent agent gadgets such as server app for circulated

computing atmospheres, production applications, business apps solution, mainframe and server

managing gears, software design tool, video gaming and online marketing are some of the

company's offerings. Microsoft Company also design and promote Xbox gaming and tools for

entertainment console (Elbahri, Al-Sanjary, Ali, Naif, Ibrahim & Mohammed, 2019). In addition,

the company offers product advice and service support, training and accreditation for computer

system integrators and designers. Cloud computing solutions are also available from the

corporation, which supplies consumers with software, services, and content through the Internet

via pooled computing resources housed in centralized data centers. Usage fees and advertising

are the two main sources of cloud revenue. Microsoft Office 365 is an example of Microsoft's

cloud-based computing services. It allows people to perform task from practically their

preferably location using very simple, conversant collaboration and information relaying tools

like Microsoft Office, Exchanger tool, and SharePoint.

Primary Stakeholders

Within an organization, a business stakeholder is an individual or a group of people with

diverse interests who play a key role in ensuring good cooperative governance and financial

performance. Microsoft encounters a wide variety of difficulties led by diverse stakeholders and

their concerns. However, through corporate societal responsibility curricula, that emphasizes on

mortal rights, ecological sustainability, and commercial accountability, where the corporation

emphases on the most important aims. Core stakeholder groups that are more significant to

Microsoft's business are discussed as follows. Customers being one of the most important

stakeholders in Microsoft corporate applies communal responsibility approach since they are

among the most important stakeholders in its business expansion needs. These participants are

regularly looking for low cost, items of high quality with excellent client service. These benefits

do have considerable impact to the enterprise's client preservation and conforming sales

revenues, which impacts the company's financial situation.

Investors are among key stakeholder groups in the computer hardware and software

production in this regard. Availability of finance has a greater impact in the running of

Microsoft. The stakeholders are mainly interested with business growth and accurate financial

reporting. The availability of finance has an impact on Microsoft. These stakeholders are

concerned with business growth and accurate fiscal reporting. The firm's financial stability also

addresses investors' concerns about business growth. These projects demonstrate that Microsoft's

corporate social responsibility approach meets the needs of investors, a key stakeholder group.

Governments are also major shareholders in Microsoft's corporate social responsibility

strategy, which treats them as partners in the company. This group of stakeholders is

significantly important as they directly influence the company's operation constraints.

Microsoft's legal and guiding compliance, as well as its assistances to economic growth, are of

importance to governments. The government plays a significant role in a company's financial

performance by imposing laws and regulations that must be followed in the management and

operation of the organization.

External Environments of the Organization

This refers to the external circumstances and events that impact a company's operations:

As the external environment changes, the organization's goals must change to reflect this shift.

Because Microsoft has operations worldwide, it has to contend with the political forces of

various countries (Akpoviroro & Owotutu, 2018). Dealing with global and domestic rules is

difficulty for the company. To overcome these complications, the company has established

strategic measures that prevent any nation's political effect from influencing Microsoft's business

environments.

Legal concerns are another external aspect affecting the company's performance. To

protect data confidentiality and consumer privacy, Microsoft must cope with a variety of issues

and pressures from various jurisdictions. As a result of many cyberattacks and data breaches, the

company is being penalized and losing reputation. Despite threats of disintegration, leadership

changes, and several legal battles, including antitrust claims in the United States and the

European Union, Microsoft's image has been tested by legal and ethical issues.

Microsoft Biggest Success and Missed Opportunities

Microsoft Office debuted in 1990 as an application suite with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

While those products remain the foundation of Office, other programs such as Access, Outlook,

OneNote and a group of others have been developed. Today, Office is the most popular

productivity package. Apple software and Google Apps have posed competition, but nothing has

come close to Office's popularity. This positively impacted the company's success because it

increased the number of loyal customers, resulting in increased productivity.
