Explain the importance of SWOT Analysis in Marketing Decision Making activities (10pts.)

SWOT Analysis is a very beneficial tool for strategic planning and brainstorming. SWOT stands
for an organization’s Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats. You can use SWOT Analysis
to help you select or decide such as taking advantage of a new business opportunity, developing
business goals and strategies for achieving them, understanding your business better, responding to
new trends, implementing new technology, and dealing with changes to your competitor’s operations.
It is also a tool used to evaluate the internal and external environments of an organization, assisting in
the creation of a plan of action to maximize the accomplishment of the organization’s overall
objective. It helps the organization to determine and classify the potential opportunities and threats,
which can be lessened or avoided by using this tool and also to know its strength and weaknesses in
order to improve and do better in an organization.

There are a lot of things that you need to consider in order to achieve and to do a SWOT Analysis,
to have a successful business operation, a specific strategy must be applied. It is important to be aware
of what is happening around us especially the challenges to produce meaningful, unbiased outcomes.
Aside from that, a SWOT Analysis improves your business’s adaptability, wherein you are aware of
the possibilities that your company can achieve, it also leads to better use of resources regardless of its
size, each company has limited resources such as human resources and capital, improves business
operations, helps your business deal with risks, and discover of new opportunities, those values or
characteristics can make a company into a better business operation among other competitors.
Moreover, allowing the decision-makers and business leaders to know and determine the things that
need to be improved and developed in order to achieve a successful business operation and where the
company stands. Lastly, the organization will use this information and strategies to assist in developing
strategic plans to reach its target market at the same time stay competitive in the industry.
