Assessing the ESG risks, transparency module, climate change impact, and investment criteria for

mining industries.
With an increase in demand for low carbon energy technology, there will be a rise in demand for energy
materials. Metal-energy Nexus is a crucial component to the sustainability of the planet. More energy materials
like Lithium, Cobalt, Nickel, Zinc, and Bauxite need to be extracted from mining in the near future. Due to
mining activities, many inbound and outbound risks are formed. My research shall focus on understanding
responses to different rebound dynamics across leadership groups and styles. Administrative power, executive
power, and governance are exercised and diffused in the Mining industry need to be studied. Companies hold
to account for the imposition and manage risk in what way has also captured my attention. Responsible and
ethical investing helps mitigate risk associated with mining projects, but its exact nature needs close scrutiny.
The pathways for mining to be verified as delivering environmental or social benefits by an independent
certifier need to be researched too. Moreover, the mineral lifecycle analysis that will demonstrate market
advantage needs to be studied well.
Mainly, we can categorize the risk associated with the mining industry as Environmental, Social, and
Governance (ESG) risk. ESG risk is multi-dimensional and multi-directional in nature. ESG risk may vary
from mineral to mineral. Also, there is some risk associated with diverse disclosure contexts. Therefore, the
quality of ESG disclosure remains of interest. As industries move towards providing sufficient ESG disclosure
to the public, I should focus on making ESG disclosure data comparable across industries, states, and
countries. Improved disclosure provides visibility to the cooperative people, government, and stakeholders.
Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative policy for resource governance needs to be researched and
implemented.
Waste is produced during excavation and stages of orebody processing/purification. I shall focus on the
composition and dynamic nature of different orebody. The surrounding climatic and topographic factors play
a significant role in waste contamination. Tailing management needs to be taken into account by mining
owners, and a strong policy needs to be formulated to reuse it. Inadequate mine water management involving
high withdrawal, low rates of water reuse, and discharge of contaminated water can heavily impact local water
resources and affect surrounding ecosystems and communities. Moreover, there is an aqueduct water risk. I
want to research to protect forest cover and community rights. In addition, I am interested in pathways for
social risk analysis and the internal working of mining companies related to social risk. I want to assess the
threats to the social group and life. Applied and embedded research in a project or operational team that
documents associated behaviors, logic, and processes must be researched. Additionally, I would like to study
the political aspects, like children’s rights, corruption, human rights, and human trafficking. The connection
between natural resources, the economy, and corruption needs to be found. The stakeholder demand for
disclosure of information, the pressure applied to the industry, and its response pattern needs to be studied in
detail.
I want to develop a statistical political ecology for testing correlations between conflicts and material flows,
population density, land use, water scarcity, and other various indicators. I want to direct my research towards
understanding patterns of risk and response within the aforementioned dynamic space. The impacts of climate
change may be adverse for mines in some regions, e.g., increased evaporation and external water requirements;
conversely, these changes could be beneficial for managing various water risks at mine sites. Future
sustainability will require highway, ecological balance, minerals, energy, extensive primary forests, and
biodiversity. I want to analyze how companies progress in achieving their ESG reporting objectives. The way
ESG risk affects the financial side of the mining industry needs to be studied well. After producing the global
atlas of ESG risk, I am interested in a case study on the mining industry.
I am keen on mining, environmental engineering, industrial ecology, energy transition, Lifecycle assessment,
and ESG risk. My academic background matches your research proposal's environmental, technological,
social, and economic aspects. Moreover, my working experience matches the political, environmental, and
social aspects of the research proposal. I studied applied sociology, ecological economics, environmental
engineering, and industrial ecology courses for my undergraduate and graduate degrees. I have published three
research papers on energy transition and environmental engineering. During my research activities, I had
collected data from my field visit. I had reached every targeted household in my research and had interviewed
targeted/affected local people, stakeholders, cooperative houses, and farmers. Group discussions, telephone
conversations, and individual questionnaires were made galore to collect the data. Moreover, I have done
financial analysis and environmental impact assessment for a power plant during my project work. Also, I
have done laboratory analysis of wastewater. To conclude, I am intensely interested in all parameters of
research projects; economics, politics, technological, geological, social, and the environment.
