Social media has been seen as a vital tool in society in the current world. One can tap
in anywhere on any of the platforms and get any information they were looking for.
However, some actions in social media can tarnish your reputation or put your safety at risk.
This is because most people tend to focus on any of the areas they are interested in, for
instance, the entertainment industry, and do not take their Privacy seriously. The more they
engage in social media activities in the name of socializing, the more they give out their
information unknowingly. The data is then tracked by potential spouses, thieves, friends, etc.
This calls for individuals to evaluate the public relationships they have with people.
Social Privacy is difficult primarily for young people. They are at the age where they
interact with these platforms for the first time and are not aware of the risks that come with
them. Parents are urged to sit down with their teenagers and teach them about privacy
becoming rampant, mainly stealing or hacking information from an individual. The users are
led to a Facebook page where they are asked to fill in their login information. Eventually,
their personal information is stolen and may be used for illegal activities.
