 T he Fishing occupation is one of the oldest occupation but in the recent times, it is losing
its importance because of low maintenance lifestyle & no fixed income. The sense of self
belonging & pride is missing which has led to deterioration of market & the culture of the
community

Nate , one of the fishing vilage of the Konkan, & a famous tourist spot .Over a years it has
ben confronted with problems like lack of infrastructure , Unhygienic surroundings. Recent
statistics state that the Village has a great scope of Fishery Market .This Proposal therefore
intended to examine the issues & thereafter purpose an Architectural Design solutions to the
problems associated with it. The proposal also tries to provide spaces for visitors which would act
as a revenue generation for the localities. Tourism has always ben an integral trigger in the growth
& development of the economic cycle of any region. Tourist Destination center aims to promote
tourism through art, culture & heritage. It is also an interpretation for dissemination of Knowledge
of natural & Cultural heritage.

keeping in mind the comfort & Needs of the Community & Urban thread.
To study the Existing Organic Pattern & Their infrastructure in Existing koliwada of Nate, Ratnagiri.
To give a scope of Rejuvenate development of Existing jetty Precinct.
To Create Urban catalyst that would initiate surrounding development.
The aim of the project is to design & Create a hub to support all existing activities with Urban
amenities. The Center is focal point for both of the surroundings environment & urban thread.
To provide platform to shocase Art, Culture , Heritage of the region & to celebrate it with Visitors

M usakaji port is one of the oldest ones in Ratnagiri . It is located near Nate Village in Rajapur
Taluka. When you travel a distance of 3 kms from Yashwant Fort towards Ambolgad this little port is
to be found on the left hand side.
The deep blue water and circular beach with its silken soft sand mesmerises tourists with
natural ease. Since there isn’t much footfall here, it is an ideal place to experience silence absolute.
This port is in not in use for several years.
