Fig 1: 2 rollers and 1 beater

ADVANTAGE:
- Best forwarding motion.
DISADVANTA.:
- Distance between nip point and action line of
beater is high. So, beating intensity will be less.
Fig 2: One roller, a table & one beater
ADVANT.: Beating intensity is more.
DISADVANT.: 1. Forwarding motion is not so good.
2. For thick-thin places in cotton, slippage
can be occurred.
ADVANTAGES:
1. No slip as the table is made like a piano where there
are many sub-tables and every one is controlled by
spring.
2. The lase part of curvature for both the roller and
bottom curving table is almost at the same line.
Therefore intensive action will be high.
DISADVANTAGES:
- Cost is relatively high.
- Forwarding motion is not as the 1st one.
Q. Describe Grids.
DEFINITION:
These are part of metal (possibly looks look a rod) that
spread to the full width of drum or roller under that drum
or roller. End end is very sharp and maintain an angle to
clean the cotton fiber. These covers 90 to 270 degree of
the drum. 70% dirt can be cleaned by this equipment in
the Blow room.
TYPE OF GRIDS:
There are five types as follows:
A) Slotted sheet: Old system.
B) Perforated sheet: old system
C) Triangular bar
D) Blade type bar
E) Angular bar
Factors of Grids on which cleaning depends on:
A. Angle of individual grids
B. Place occupied by grid
C. Density of the grid/ distance between each two grids.
D. Sharpness of edge
E. Hardness

CLASSES OF GRID:
ARRANGEMENT OF GRIDS:
Q2. 200 gm cotton is fed in a cleaning machine
and output is found as 180 gm. What is the
