Report on “Street Play”

Objectives of the Event:
 To create a platform where the students can exhibit their concern about social issues
through a play.
 To provide opportunity to think, create, script and represent societal issues there by
sensitizing social issues
Outcome of the Event:
Students were able to learn about think critically and communicate about various social issues
and also able to create awareness about the same through self made scripts and role played.
Students were also be able to develop the ability to express themselves imaginatively and
creatively.
Brief about the Event:
Street Play “Nukkad Natak” was conducted by JIMS as a part of INNOVISION 2020, A
National level Techno-Social Symposium organized by JSPM group of institutes, Tathawade
campus. The competition aimed at giving a platform to the participants to portrait their play on
various social issues there by instilling the societal concern among the younger generation. This
event also helped the students in developing various things like team spirit, Communication,
critical thinking, Imagination, societal concern, problem solving etc.
The event was judged by Mr. Akash from Robin hood Army (an social reform community). The
criteria for judgment were Social issue handled, clarity of content, Team coordination, Social
message passed, timing and the way the play has been portrayed.
First act was played by students of JSPM JIMS as a host college which was not considered for
evaluation followed by plays from other competing colleges. After the completion was
completed winner and runner up teams has been announced and prizes has been distributed. At
the end of the day it can be said that all the plays has left a deep impact and had a strong social
message among all those present in the venue. It can be said that it was an “A great value
learning day”.
