Description of the Event:

The AICTE Activity Points project is dedicated to applying engineering expertise to
address social issues in India, with a specific focus on the "Film Festival in College - Charity
Fundraising Activity." This initiative unfolds in two phases, starting with the Theoretical
Phase, where the social problem is scrutinized along with existing solutions and their
shortcomings. The Film Festival, often perceived as a mere screening event, is highlighted as
a powerful medium to effectively communicate social issues to students, encompassing aspects
like awareness, talent discovery, leadership skills development, fundraising, and supporting
NGOs. The course emphasizes the need for dynamic changes in the trends of Film Festivals,
exploring technology utilization to engage more audiences and artists. The engineering
solution proposed involves creating a platform to enhance the impact of Film Festivals on the
quality of life for the common citizen.

Transitioning to the Practical Phase, a survey involving 20 individuals is conducted,

covering 60 questions each on technology implementation in Film Festivals, current issues,

Place & Address: Bangalore No. of Beneficiary: 100
Theme/Activity Type: Distributing food to needy people
Faculty Coordinator and Contact No.: Prof. Tejaswini B J, 9945545014

Objectives:
 Food donations help reduce food waste by redirecting surplus or unused food from
donors to those who can benefit from it.
 Food donation initiatives foster a sense of community and solidarity. Bringing people
together to support those in need strengthens social bonds, promotes empathy, and
creates a more compassionate and caring society.
 Donating food provides immediate relief to individuals and families facing hunger.
 Donating food is a targeted effort to support vulnerable populations, including low-
income families, homeless individuals, and marginalized communities.
 By emphasizing the importance of redirecting surplus food instead of discarding it,
food donations contribute to sustainable practices.

Description of the Event:

In a heartwarming and impactful initiative, our community organized a two-phase
event focused on donating food to those in need, aptly named Phase-5 and Phase-6. Phase-5
kicked off with enthusiastic participation from students and volunteers who came together to
prepare homemade food and procure small bakery items. Setting up stalls within the college
premises, they sold these delicious treats to fellow students and faculty. What made Phase-5
unique was that the funds collected through this bake sale were designated for a noble cause –
buying food supplies for those experiencing food insecurity.

As the event transitioned into Phase-6, the culmination of efforts took place in the form
of giving back to the community. Armed with the funds generated in Phase-5, the organizers
purchased a variety of nutritious food items. A dedicated team then visited local slums,
distributing the acquired food to needy families. This hands-on approach not only provided
immediate relief from hunger but also fostered a direct connection between the college
community and those in need. The event showcased the power of collective action and
demonstrated how a simple act, like enjoying homemade treats, could translate into tangible
support for the less fortunate, bringing about positive change in both the giver and the receiver.
