The Epistle of Muhammadan Light

Nūr Nāmeye Hazrat Muḥammad Muṣṭafā (ṣ)

In the name of Allāh, the Beneficent, the Merciful

All praise belongs to Allāh, Lord of the Worlds, and the outcome is [always] in
favor of the God-wary. And praises and salutations upon His Messenger
Muḥammad, and his family and companions, one and all.

It is a narration, and has come in a ḥadīth,1 that the Master of the Universe and the
most special of all existent [created] beings, the Mercy upon the Worlds and the
Selected One, who is the best of all that exist and the pride of all of creation, the one
chosen above all the Prophets – meaning the one with the beautiful name
Muḥammad Muṣṭafā (ṣ), said: “The first thing that Allāh, the Most High, created,
was my [pure] Light. At that moment, it went into prostration and was addressed
[by Allāh]: ‘O Light of My beloved, and O Light of My chosen one, know that you are
My beloved and My cherished one. It is out of My love for you that I created seven
seas. The first is the sea of knowledge, the second is the sea of forbearance, third is
the sea of modesty, fourth is the sea of reason, fifth is the sea of poverty, sixth is the
sea of contentment and the seventh sea is that of blessing.’

Then, by His love and power, the Lord of Truth placed my light in each of the seven
seas for seventy thousand years, and after seventy thousand years, His command
came: ‘O Light of My beloved, and O Light of My chosen one, shake your blessed self!
The Light of Muḥammad (ṣ) shook its blessed self and a hundred and twenty-four
drops fell from it, and from those drops, 124,000 ‘points of prophecy’ came about,
meaning that one lakh twenty-four thousand Prophets were created. Then another
two drops fell from the right eye of the Light of Muḥammad (ṣ); from the first, Jibraʾīl
and from the second, Mīkāʾīl was created. Then another two drops fell from the left
eye of the Light of Muḥammad (ṣ); from the first was created Isrāfīl and from the

second, ‘Izrā’īl. Then a further two drops of water fell from the right ear of the Light
of Muḥammad (ṣ); from the first, the Tablet and from the second, the Pen was
created. Then two drops fell from the left ear of the Light of Muḥammad (ṣ); from
the first drop was created the Throne (ʿarsh) and from the second, the Seat [of
Divine Authority] (kursī). Then two drops fell from the nose of the Light of
Muḥammad (ṣ); from the first, Paradise and from the second, Hell was created.

From the two drops of water that fell from the two shoulders of the Light of
Muḥammad (ṣ), the sun was created from the first drop and the moon from the
second. Then five more drops of water fell from the right hand of the Light of
Muḥammad (ṣ). From the first was created fierce gales; from the second, heavenly
cushions (rafraf); from the third, thunder and lightning; from the fourth, the ring of
Prophet Sulaymān; and from the fifth, the trumpet of Isrāfīl. Then another five drops
of water fell from the left hand of the Light of Muḥammad (ṣ). From the first drop,
the Furthest Lote Tree was created, from the second, the Tree of Ṭūbā was created,
from the third drop, the Pond of Kawthar, from the fourth drop, the souls of the
Prophets, and from the fifth drop, the primogenitor Ādam, the Chosen of Allāh, was
created. Then another message came [from the Almighty], ‘O Light of My beloved,
out of My love for you, I have created four things: The first is water, the second is air,
the third is fire and the fourth is earth. O Light of Muḥammad, from these four
things, which do you choose so that I may [thereby] make your prophethood known
to the entire creation?’ The Light of Muḥammad (ṣ) called to the air and said, ‘Peace
be unto you O air.’ The air replied, ‘And upon you be peace! Who are you?’ The Light
of Muḥammad (ṣ) replied, ‘One of the servants of God like you.’ Then the Light of
Muḥammad (ṣ) said, ‘O air, tell me what you will do [when sent to earth].’ The air
responded, ‘I will do whatever I feel like doing.’ The Light of Muḥammad (ṣ) said, ‘A
servant cannot do as he desires. Whatever God the Almighty desires is what will be
done. So look, what a flaw you possess!’ The air asked, ‘What flaw do I possess?’ The
Light of Muḥammad (ṣ) replied, ‘I seek forgiveness from Allāh! Only God is without
any flaws; the servants are full of flaws.’ [Upon hearing this] the air submitted to the
religion of Muḥammad (ṣ) and accepted it. The Light of Muḥammad (ṣ) said, ‘You
are a truant. You see everyone but nobody sees you.’ The air accepted the yolk of
submission and entered into the fold of the religion of Muḥammad (ṣ) and believed.
It pronounced the declaration of faith and said: ‘I bear witness that there is no God
but Allāh, and I bear witness that Muḥammad is His servant and His messenger.’
Then the Light of Muḥammad (ṣ) called the water and said, ‘Peace be unto you O
water.’ The water replied, ‘And upon you be peace! Who are you?’ The Light of
Muḥammad (ṣ) replied, ‘One of the servants of God like you.’ Then the Light of
Muḥammad (ṣ) said, ‘O water, the Almighty Lord of Truth has decreed that those of
His servants who become impure will restore their purity through you. And what
purity remains with you when they cause you to become stagnant in one place and
you become fetid, and when larvae fall into you and you become malodorous, then
nobody touches you.’ The water said, ‘O Light of Muḥammad (ṣ), are you without
any flaw?’ The Light of Muḥammad (ṣ) said, ‘I seek Allāh’s forgiveness! I am a servant
full of flaws, only Allāh, the Most High, has no flaw.’ After this, the water recited the
testimony of faith and accepted the religion of Muḥammad (ṣ) and became a
believer. It proclaimed: ‘There is no God but Allāh and Muḥammad is His servant
and messenger.’

Then the Light of Muḥammad (ṣ) called the fire and said, ‘Peace be unto you O fire.’
The fire replied, ‘And upon you be peace! Who are you?’ The Light of Muḥammad
(ṣ) replied, ‘One of the servants of God like you.’ The Light of Muḥammad (ṣ) then
said, ‘O fire, when they take you to the world, what will you do?’ The fire replied, ‘I
will do whatever I wish.’ The Light of Muḥammad (ṣ) said, ‘What does a servant have
to do with his own desire? Look what a flaw you have!’ The fire asked, ‘What flaw do
I possess?’ The Light of Muḥammad (ṣ) said, ‘Killing you is in the hand of water, and
the thing that gives you strength is air.’ The fire said, ‘O Light of Muḥammad (ṣ), are
you without any flaws?’ The Light of Muḥammad (ṣ) said, ‘I seek Allāh’s pardon!
Only God is flawless. Servants are full of flaws.’ Then the fire also believed and
recited the testament of faith: ‘I bear witness that there is no God but Allāh and I
bear witness that Muḥammad is His servant and messenger.’

Then the Light of Muḥammad (ṣ) greeted the earth saying, ‘Peace be unto you, O
earth.’ The earth replied, ‘And upon you be peace.’ The Light of Muḥammad (ṣ) said,
‘O earth, when they take you to the world what will you do?’ The earth replied, ‘O
Light of Muḥammad (ṣ), whatever God the Almighty wills, that is what will happen.
What choice does a weak creature like the earth have? I am poor, trampled upon
and disregarded.’ The Light of Muḥammad (ṣ) saw no fault or arrogance in the earth,
as it was humble. It took the earth on the side and said, ‘I choose you first and last.’
The earth did not present any argument or excuse and immediately submitted and
believed. It proclaimed: ‘I bear witness that there is no God but Allāh and I bear
witness that Muḥammad is His servant and messenger.’”

Know that the human being is not bereft of four elements. Those who are ‘watery’
are magnanimous and chivalrous. Those who are ‘fiery’ are miserly. Those who are
‘airy’ are arrogant and those who are ‘earthy’ are poor and destitute. The Light of
Muḥammad (ṣ) selected the earth and God the Almighty says, “I am the Lord. I have
created some [creatures] from air and nurture them and I shall cause them to die
and return to air. I have created some from water and nurtured them and I shall
cause them to die and return to water. I have created some from fire and nurtured
them, and I shall cause them to die and return to fire. I have created some from earth
and nurtured them, and I shall cause them to die and return to earth. Indeed, I am
the All-powerful Lord.”

Regarding the description of the creation of Muḥammad Muṣṭafā (ṣ) [it is stated:]

- His head was created from the grace of Allāh – meaning the blessed head of
Muḥammad Muṣṭafā (ṣ) was created from the grace (barakah) of the
Almighty.
- His eyes were created from modesty of Allāh, the Most High – meaning the
eyes of Muḥammad Muṣṭafā (ṣ) were created from modesty (ḥayāʾ) of the
Almighty.
- His ears were created to listen to the speech of Allāh, the Most High – meaning
the ears of Muḥammad Muṣṭafā (ṣ) were created in order to listen to the
speech of the Almighty.
- His face was created from the light of the Manifestation of Allāh, the Most
High – meaning the blessed countenance of Muḥammad Muṣṭafā (ṣ) was
created from the light of Divine Manifestation (tajallī).
- His nose was created from Grey Amber – meaning the blessed nose of
Muḥammad Muṣṭafā (ṣ) was created from ambergris.
- His lips were created from glorification – meaning the blessed lips of
Muḥammad Muṣṭafā (ṣ) were created for the glorification (tasbīḥ) of the
Almighty.
- His tongue was created from the remembrance of Allāh, the Most High –
meaning that the tongue of Muḥammad Muṣṭafā (ṣ) was created so that he
may remember God the Almighty.
- His teeth were created from of the Light of Allāh, the Most High – meaning
the blessed teeth of Muḥammad Muṣṭafā (ṣ) were created from the Light of
the Almighty.
- His neck was created from the Power of Allāh, the Most High – meaning that
the neck of Muḥammad Muṣṭafā (ṣ) was created from the Power of the
Almighty.
- His chest was created from the ruby of Paradise – meaning the chest of
Muḥammad Muṣṭafā (ṣ) was created from the ruby of God’s Paradise.
- His heart was created from sincerity towards Allāh, the Most High – meaning
that the blessed heart of Muḥammad Muṣṭafā (ṣ) was created from
sincerity towards God.
- His arms were created from the might of Allāh, the Most High – meaning that
the arms of Muḥammad Muṣṭafā (ṣ) were created from the might of God.
- His hands were created from the generosity of Allāh, the Most High – meaning
the blessed hands of Muḥammad Muṣṭafā (ṣ) were created from the
Almighty’s generosity.
- His hair was created from the plants of Allāh’s Paradise – meaning the hair
of Muḥammad Muṣṭafā (ṣ) was created from the plants of God’s Paradise.
- His flesh was created from the musk of Allāh’s Paradise – meaning the
blessed flesh of Muḥammad Muṣṭafā (ṣ) was created from the musk of
God’s Paradise.
- His bones were created from the camphor of Allāh’s Paradise – meaning the
bones of Muḥammad Muṣṭafā (ṣ) were created from the camphor of God’s
Paradise.
- His viscera was created from patience – meaning the viscera of Muḥammad
Muṣṭafā (ṣ) were created from the patience of the Almighty.
- His feet were created for the worship of Allāh, the Most High – meaning the
feet of Muḥammad Muṣṭafā (ṣ) were created for the worship of God
Almighty.

Whoever reads this Epistle of Light and the creation story of the Prophet
Muḥammad Muṣṭafā (ṣ), and if he is unable to read it he should instruct someone
else to read it to him as he listens to it, or if he keeps it in his house, God the Almighty
will protect that person from the calamities and misfortunes of both worlds. If it is
recited over a dying person who is undergoing death pangs, his death will become
easy, and the angels of mercy will give him his book of deeds in his right hand, and
his minor and major sins will be forgiven by the Almighty Lord by the blessing of
this Epistle of Light and creation story of Prophet Muḥammad Muṣṭafā (ṣ).
Furthermore, during the moment of his death, his eyes will light up [as he sees his
station is Paradise]; insects will not eat his body in the grave and his bones will not
rot. His faith will protect him from the assault of Satan and he will attain the reward
of four books: first, the reward of the Torah of Moses; second, the reward of the
Evangel of Jesus; third, the reward of the Psalms of David and fourth, the reward of
the Furqān of Muḥammad Muṣṭafā (ṣ). Additionally, the sins of his parents and
children, and the sins of seventy past generations of his shall be forgiven by God the
Almighty.

Whoever recites this Epistle of Light or listens to it with a sincere heart will remain
under God’s protection from the tongues of those who speak evil, the envious ones,
the slanderers and his enemies. He will also be protected from the sorcery of the
magicians, from tale-bearers and from hypocrites. He will likewise remain safe from
earthquakes, thunder and lightning. He will be counted among the felicitous and
whatever need he has will be fulfilled by God the Almighty. And whoever recites
this epistle on Thursday night, or keeps it by his side, or listens to it, he shall receive
the reward of 313 sent Messengers, or the reward of freeing a thousand slaves. A
group of angels will pray for the forgiveness of that person, and praise him to such
an extent that all the mountains and plains will wish that they too could receive
such reward.

It has further been narrated from Imām Muḥammad Ghazālī, may Allāh have mercy
upon him, that one day he went to his library and as he was going through the most
valuable manuscripts that he had acquired, he came across a copy of this Epistle of
Light. When he read it, he really liked it and thus, he made the intention to give a
copy of it to Sultan Maḥmūd Ghāzī. He took a copy of it and proceeded to meet the
Sultan. When the Sultan heard about this, he travelled for eleven days out of the city
in order to welcome [him] and receive the Epistle of Light and the creation story of
the greatest among the first and the last. All the people, including the Turks, Tajiks,
Arabs and non-Arabs, young and old – all of them were waiting to hear the Epistle
of Light, and [when] they saw that it had a lot of merit, they all became pleased and
happy. As a token of thanks, Sultan Maḥmūd sacrificed nine hundred sheep, six
hundred cows and two hundred camels, and he invited the scholars, sages and
shaykhs, as well as the nobility and the servants.

A written copy of this [epistle] was given to Sultan Maḥmūd and on that very night,
he saw a dream in which the friends of the Prophet had gathered on the Day of
Resurrection, and the Noble Prophet (ṣ) himself appeared with five hundred
thousand ‘points of prophecy’. Then the Majestic Lord addressed him saying, “O
Sultan Maḥmūd I have pardoned you and I forgive the minor and major sins of
anyone who holds My Epistle of Light dear, and We also grant such a person esteem
in the world and the Hereafter, and the gates of Paradise are opened for him.” When
he awoke, out of gratitude for what he had heard and seen in his dream, he
manumitted ten thousand slaves, clothed a hundred thousand unclothed vagrants,
endowed fifty thousand gardens and built a thousand schools. He renovated the
monasteries and guest houses and funded charitable institutions. He became kind
and compassionate towards his subjects, and all this was from the blessing of this
Epistle of Light.

Whoever reads this Epistle of Light will not suffer from anguish, malady or
bitterness, and he will be saved from the pain of the seven parts of the body, and
from sickness and disease, and from dyspepsia, erysipelas, and from all forms of
ailments that can afflict man, if Allāh, the Most High, wills.

And in a narration we find: Whoever writes this Epistle of Light and keeps it with
himself, and during the time of prayer he keeps it in front of him as he faces the
Qibla to pray, it will be as if he has offered prayed among the ranks of the Prophets.
It has also been narrated that the Fearless Lion and Owner of Dhul Fiqār, Amīr al-
Muʾminīn ʿAlī, may Allāh ennoble his countenance, narrated from the Chosen
Master, the Foremost of the Elite, the Intercessor on the Day of Recompense,
meaning he whose beautiful name is Muḥammad Muṣṭafā (ṣ), that he said, “The
Lord of Truth, Glorified and Most High is He, sent Jibraʾīl to inform me that whoever
among the servants reads the Epistle of Light and my creation story, or listens to it,
or keeps it with himself, God the Almighty will record the reward of the Throne
(‘arsh), the Seat of Power (kursī), the Tablet (lawḥ) and the Pen (qalam) in his book
of deeds, and he will be among those about whom He has said: Now surely the friends
of Allah will indeed have no fear nor will they grieve (Q10:62). That servant will also be
granted the reward of pilgrimage (ḥajj) as well as every other obligatory action. A
group of angels will send down mercy for him and he will attain a plentiful reward,
including the reward of fasting for a thousand years.

The Almighty Lord says: “Whoever among My servants recites the creation story and
the Epistle of Light, I, the Almighty, shall send seventy thousand angels towards him
so that on the Day of Resurrection they may seek forgiveness for him, and the
supplication of angels on behalf of him will be accepted by Me, and I shall forgive
all his sins. Whoever reads the Epistle of Light on Mondays, Thursdays, on the eve
of Fridays and on Fridays, such that other creatures can hear him, it will be as if he
has circumambulated the Kaʿbah. Whoever intercedes using the Epistle of Light, his
supplication will be answered and he will always be under the shade of God’s mercy.
He will attain the reward of the Prophets Ya’qūb, Yūsuf, Mūsā, Hārūn, Ismāʿīl and
all the rest of the Prophets, as well as the reward of those who say I am One, have
accepted Me as One, believe that I am One and worship Me alone. I shall record
abundant reward for that servant and will efface a thousand sins from his book of
deeds and record a thousand good deeds in his book of deeds. I will build for that
servant a thousand palaces in Paradise.

When that servant rises from the grave on the Day of Resurrection, Angels of Mercy
will take him to Paradise. He will be forgiven for all his sins even if they are equal to
the grains of sand in a desert, the drops of rain and the leaves of the trees. All his
sins will be forgiven for him. The questioning of Munkar and Nakir [in the grave]
will become easy for him, and his soul will not be taken until he has seen his place
in Paradise. And whoever reads this Epistle of Light or keeps it with himself will
remain safe from rabid dogs and rabid wolves, and from the bite of snakes and
scorpions, and from prowling lions. Thieves will not enter his home and will not
steal his wealth, and if he is in debt, he will be able to repay his debt. Both his
exterior and interior will become illuminated, and by the blessing of this Epistle of
Light, he will never go astray and his sustenance and livelihood will increase.” The
Holy Prophet (ṣ) then said, “My friends, I am the beloved of God, yet death will come
to me so that you may all realize that no person can ever escape death. So you must
never become heedless regarding the Hereafter.”

You must never doubt in the greatness of this Epistle of Light and the creation story
of Hazrat Muḥammad (ṣ), for this is a sign of apostasy – we seek Allāh’s refuge from
it!

Blessings and salutations upon you, O Vicegerent of Allāh!

Blessings and salutations upon you, O Light of Allāh!

Blessings and salutations upon you, O Might of Allāh!

Blessings and salutations upon you, O Proof of Allāh!

Blessings and salutations upon you, O Chosen one (Muṣṭafā (ṣ))!

Blessings and salutations upon you, O Possessor of the Crown!

Blessings and salutations upon you, O he who ascended to the heavens (miʿrāj)!

Blessings and salutations upon you, O Possessor of Intercession!

Blessings and salutations upon you, O Master on the Day of Resurrection!

Blessings and salutations upon you, O Owner of [the Pond of] Kawthar!

Blessings and salutations upon you, O Master of the God-wary!

Blessings and salutations upon you, O Possessor of Miracles!

Blessings and salutations upon you, O Seal of the Prophets!

Blessings and salutations upon you, O Leader of the Believers!

Blessings and salutations upon you, O lord of the worlds!


The merits and rewards for the salutation to the Great and Noble Prophet is that it
has been mentioned in a tradition that “Whoever sends salutation one time, I, the
Almighty Lord, will send mercy upon that servant a hundred times. And whoever
sends the salutation ten times, I will send mercy a thousand times upon him.” And
when that believer sends the salutation, angels in the seven heavens and earth also
send salutations and the reward for all those salutations are recorded for that
servant. And if he sends the salutation a thousand times, God, the Most High, will
keep him free from the fire of Hell, and there can be no doubt in the merit and
reward of this salutation. If the entire earth and heavens turned into paper and all
the trees turned into pens and all the seas turned to ink, and if all the human beings,
fairies and angels of the seven heavens and earth began writing until the Day of
Resurrection, they would still not be able to write down the reward for it. If someone
puts it in the grave or on the shroud of a dead person, that person will not suffer the
torment of the grave and the questioning of Munkar and Nakīr will become easy for
him. If a person performs the ritual bath on the eve of Friday, then offers two rak’ahs
of prayer and recites the ‘great salutation’ before going to bed, he will see the
Messenger of Allāh (ṣ) in his dream and will get the honor of looking upon his
beautiful countenance. Furthermore, his minor and major sins will be forgiven by
God, the Most High, by the blessing of the salutation, and when they are weighed
on the weighing scale of deeds, they will be transformed into good deeds.

It has been narrated that in the city of Baghdad, there was once a young man who
was very handsome and good-looking and it so happened that his mother(?)2 fell in
love with him, and day by day, her sadness and love ate at her until her state became
such that she was close to death. One day a nursemaid, who was her confidant, came
to find out what was really happening. The lady said, “It is the kind of secret that
cannot be shared with anyone.” The nursemaid said, “I am your confidant. Tell me
about your situation so that I may find a remedy for you.” The lady told her about
the truth of her condition, i.e. that she had fallen in love with the boy. The maid told
her not to fret and that she would think of a way out. She brought a cup of wine and
gave it to the woman saying, “Give him this wine that I have brought, so that he may

drink it and become intoxicated by it and then you may do with him as you desire.”
The woman did exactly that. She fornicated with him while he was intoxicated, and
became pregnant with his child. It just so happened that the young lad got an
opportunity to go for pilgrimage that year, and [while he was away] after ten months
his mother gave birth to a daughter. She gave that daughter to the nursemaid so that
she would take her and throw her into the river.

As it happened, there was a ḥājī (one who had returned from his ḥajj pilgrimage) on
the riverbank and he said, “O woman! Why are you drowning this child?!” She
replied, “Due to the accusation and blame that will be levelled at her, her mother
has instructed me to do this.” The ḥājī said, “What will be gained by killing and
drowning her? Give her to me so that I may raise her as my own.” The nursemaid
gave the girl to that ḥājī and he took her to his own town where he raised her as his
own child until she came of age. In the meantime, that young man returned from
his pilgrimage after a few years and settled in the very same town where that ḥājī
who had taken the girl resided. As fate would have it, the ḥājī met the young man
one day and when he saw that he was a pious and righteous man, he got him married
to the girl [whom he had raised as his own daughter]. After some time, the man
decided to visit his mother, so he went to her house and took his wife with him.
When the girl met his mother, after some investigation, the latter realized that this
was the very same daughter who had been born as a result of her fornication with
her son. Upon learning this, his mother was deeply affected by melancholy and this
led to her falling gravely ill, and after a short while, she passed away.

The young man wept incessantly and he wailed for the loss of his mother [during
the] night and day. The very same nursemaid came to the young man and told him
the whole story and all that had really transpired. She told him how her mother had
fallen madly in love with him and had caused him to get intoxicated by wine and
how this led to her getting pregnant by him and giving birth to a baby girl. She told
him how she then ended up giving the girl to the ḥājī and explained every detail of
what happened to him. She told the man that the woman he was married to was
actually the fruit of his own loin. When the young man heard this, he was shocked.
He woke up in the middle of the night and took some fire and firewood with him to
the grave of his mother intending to burn her remains. When he dug up his mother’s
grave, he found a gate to paradise and saw that her grave was filled with light. He
saw his mother with a shining crown on her head, seated upon a throne.

The young man was taken aback and asked, “O mother, the sin that you committed
made you deserving of hellfire, and it was surely a grave sin that you had committed.
How did you attain such a status despite that?” His mother replied, “O son! You are
very right that I had committed a grave sin and I was deserving of eternal damnation
in Hell. However, God the Almighty is kind and merciful. By the blessing of this
‘great salutation’ [to the Holy Prophet (ṣ)], He forgave all my sins and gave me a
place in His beautiful Paradise. Now take this great salutation and read it too, so that
you may also be forgiven of your sins by God the Almighty through its blessings.”
The young man covered up the grave of his mother and returned home. The next
morning, he went to some ulamā in Baghdad and recounted what had happened to
them. The ulamā said, “Yes, young man. Even if all the inhabitants of the heavens
and earth became writers and all the trees became pens, and if all the rivers turned
to black ink, and all the human beings, fairies and angels began writing until the
Day of Resurrection, they would not be able to write the reward of this salutation.
There is no doubt in the merit of this salutation.” They further told him to write
down this story in a book so that it may be a reminder for the people who read it.

Whoever recites this salutation will be considered more noble than eighteen
thousand sages and will be held in esteem by the sultans and all the people, and all
of creation will love him. Whoever does not reads this salutation and neglects
reading this great salutation in this world, tomorrow, on the Day of Judgment, he
will lose his way to Paradise and will not find the gate of Paradise. The merits of this
salutation are too many to enumerate, but we have summarized them so as not to
cause the reader and writer weariness. And this is the great and noble salutation:

In the name of Allāh, the Beneficent, the Merciful

O Allāh, send blessings upon Muḥammad, Master of the Prophets.

O Allāh, send blessings upon Muḥammad, Master of the believers.

O Allāh, send blessings upon Muḥammad, Master of the submitters.


O Allāh, send blessings upon Muḥammad, Master of the strivers.

O Allāh, send blessings upon Muḥammad, Master of the witnesses.

O Allāh, send blessings upon Muḥammad, Master of the warriors.

O Allāh, send blessings upon Muḥammad, Master of the penitent.

O Allāh, send blessings upon Muḥammad, Master of the abstemious.

O Allāh, send blessings upon Muḥammad, Master of those who repent.

O Allāh, send blessings upon Muḥammad, Master of the conquerors.

O Allāh, send blessings upon Muḥammad, Master of those who give glad tidings.

O Allāh, send blessings upon Muḥammad, Master of the Close Ones.

O Allāh, send blessings upon Muḥammad, Master of the Harbingers.

O Allāh, send blessings upon Muḥammad, Master of the Nurturers.

O Allāh, send blessings upon Muḥammad, Carer of the orphans and needy.

O Allāh, send blessings upon Muḥammad, Master of those who prostrate.

O Allāh, send blessings upon Muḥammad, Master of those who beg for pardon.

O Allāh, send blessings upon Muḥammad, Master of those who fear God.

O Allāh, send blessings upon Muḥammad, Master of those who stand in prayer.

O Allāh, send blessings upon Muḥammad, Master of those who bow in prayer.

O Allāh, send blessings upon Muḥammad, Master of those who prostrate in prayer.

O Allāh, send blessings upon Muḥammad, Master of the patient.

O Allāh, send blessings upon Muḥammad, Master of the preservers [of their faith].

O Allāh, send blessings upon Muḥammad, Master of those who fear the Almighty.

O Allāh, send blessings upon Muḥammad, Master of those who praise God.

O Allāh, send blessings upon Muḥammad, Master of those who are praised.
O Allāh, send blessings upon Muḥammad, Master of the compassionate ones.

O Allāh, send blessings upon Muḥammad, Master of the rightly guided.

O Allāh, send blessings upon Muḥammad, Master of the righteous.

O Allāh, send blessings upon Muḥammad, Master of the guides.

O Allāh, send blessings upon Muḥammad, Master of the merciful ones.

O Allāh, send blessings upon Muḥammad, Master of the yearners.

O Allāh, send blessings upon Muḥammad, Master of the good doers.

O Allāh, send blessings upon Muḥammad, Master of the truthful ones.

O Allāh, send blessings upon Muḥammad, Master of the charitable ones.

O Allāh, send blessings upon Muḥammad, Master of the worshippers.

O Allāh, send blessings upon Muḥammad, Master of those who remember the
Almighty.

O Allāh, send blessings upon Muḥammad, Master of the felicitous.

O Allāh, send blessings upon Muḥammad, Master of those who seek purification.

O Allāh, send blessings upon Muḥammad, Master of those who fast.

O Allāh, send blessings upon Muḥammad, Master of the grateful ones.

O Allāh, send blessings upon Muḥammad, Master of the purified ones.

O Allāh, send blessings upon Muḥammad, Master of the remorseful.

O Allāh, send blessings upon Muḥammad, Master of the God-wary.

message.

Resurrection.

O Allāh, send blessings upon Muḥammad with the sun as it glows.

O Allāh, send blessings upon Muḥammad with the graves as they are turned over.

O Allāh, send blessings upon Muḥammad with the hearts as they divulge what they
contain.

O Allāh, send blessings upon Muḥammad with the books [of deeds] as they are read.

O Allāh, send blessings upon Muḥammad with the good deeds as they are made
manifest.

O Allāh, send blessings upon Muḥammad with the evil deeds as they are shown.

O Allāh, send blessings upon Muḥammad with the wishes as they are fulfilled.

O Allāh, send blessings upon Muḥammad with Paradise as it is brought near.

O Allāh, send blessings upon Muḥammad with the stations as they are raised.

O Allāh, send blessings upon Muḥammad, blessings equal to the number of Allāh’s
chosen servants.

O Allāh, send blessings upon Muḥammad, blessings equal to the number of Allāh’s
virtuous servants.

O Allāh, send blessings upon Muḥammad, blessings equal to the number of Allāh’s
blessings.

O Allāh, send blessings upon Muḥammad, blessings equal to the number of the leaves
of all trees.

O Allāh, send blessings upon Muḥammad, blessings equal to the number of droplets
of all rain.

O Allāh, send blessings upon Muḥammad, blessings equal to the number of all seeds
and fruits.
O Allāh, send blessings upon Muḥammad, blessings equal to the number of all nights
and days.

O Allāh, send blessings upon Muḥammad, blessings equal to the number of Paradise
and Hell.

O Allāh, send blessings upon Muḥammad, blessings equal to the number of waves in
the seas.

O Allāh, send blessings upon Muḥammad, blessings equal to the number of sages and
pious men.

O Allāh, send blessings upon Muḥammad, blessings equal to the number of [grains
of] dust and earth.

O Allāh, send blessings upon Muḥammad, blessings equal to the number of Houris
and palaces [in Paradise].

O Allāh, send blessings upon Muḥammad, blessings equal to the number of


ungrateful and grateful creatures.

O Allāh, send blessings upon Muḥammad, blessings equal to the number of those who
believe and fear God.

O Allāh, send blessings upon Muḥammad, blessings equal to the number of those who
accept and follow right guidance.

O Allāh, send blessings upon Muḥammad, blessings equal to the number of bounties
of Allāh.

O Allāh, send blessings upon Muḥammad, blessings equal to the number of mercies of
Allāh.

O Allāh, send blessings upon Muḥammad, blessings equal to the number of creations
of Allāh.

O Allāh, send blessings upon Muḥammad, blessings equal to the number of names of
Allāh.
O Allāh, send blessings upon Muḥammad, blessings equal to the number of angels of
Allāh.

of Allāh.

Messengers of Allāh.

of Allāh.

commands of Allāh.

powers of Allāh.

virtues of Allāh.

glorify and pray [to Allāh].

and their depths.
O Allāh, send blessings upon Muḥammad, blessings equal to the number of stones
and their rocky formations.

O Allāh, send blessings upon Muḥammad, blessings equal to the number of evil and
good deeds.

O Allāh, send blessings upon Muḥammad, blessings equal to the number of birds and
their feathers.

O Allāh, send blessings upon Muḥammad, blessings equal to the number of days and
hours.

O Allāh, send blessings upon Muḥammad, blessings equal to the number of angels
and their glorification.

O Allāh, send blessings upon Muḥammad, blessings equal to the number of creatures
and their breaths.

O Allāh, send blessings upon Muḥammad, blessings equal to the number of celestial
bodies and their phases.

O Allāh, send blessings upon Muḥammad, blessings equal to the number of stars and
suns.

O Allāh, send blessings upon Muḥammad, blessings equal to the number of things big
and small.

O Allāh, send blessings upon Muḥammad, blessings equal to the number of lights and
oceans.

O Allāh, send blessings upon Muḥammad, blessings equal to the number of


mountains and plains.

O Allāh, send blessings upon Muḥammad, blessings equal to the number of grains of
sand and deserts.

O Allāh, send blessings upon Muḥammad, blessings equal to the number of the poor
and rich.
O Allāh, send blessings upon Muḥammad, blessings equal to the number of the
apparent and the secret.

O Allāh, send blessings upon Muḥammad, blessings equal to the number of


everything in the world and the ultimate abode.

O Allāh, send blessings upon Muḥammad in the Hereafter. Salutations and blessings
of Allāh, His angels, His messengers, His prophets, the bearers of His Throne, and all
His creatures upon Muḥammad, Master of the Messengers, Leader of the God-wary
and Messenger of the Lord of the Worlds.

O Allāh, send blessings upon the soul of Muḥammad among the souls and send
blessings upon the body of Muḥammad among the bodies. Send blessings upon the
dust of Muḥammad’s grave among the graves and send blessings upon his tomb
among the tombs. Send blessings upon Muḥammad among the distinguished ones
and send blessings upon the garden of Muḥammad among the gardens. And may
Allāh bless the best of His creation, Muḥammad, and his entire progeny; by Your
mercy, O Most Merciful Lord.
