ABSTRACT

A ‘green’ building is a building that, in its design, construction

or operation, reduces or eliminates negative impacts, and can create
positive impacts, on our climate and natural environment. Green
buildings preserve precious natural resources and improve our
quality of life.

Keywords: Thermal Comfort, Energy efficiency, Sustainable habitat, Green building

Green Building Concept For Own House

CHAPTER 01: INTRODUCTION

1.1 INTRODUCTION

Green or sustainable building defines constructing healthier,

more energy efficient and eco- friendly buildings. A Green Building uses less
energy, water and natural resources creates less waste and is healthier for
the people living inside compared to a standard building.

Green buildings offer widespread benefits to building occupants and society as a whole.
They typically include superior air quality, abundant natural light, access to views, and noise control making
these buildings better places to work or live.

Green building (also known as green construction or sustainable building) expands and
complements the building design concerns of economy, utility, durability, and comfort. • A Green Building is
one which uses less water, optimizes energy efficiency, conserves natural resources, generates less waste and
provides healthier space for occupants as compared to conventional buildings.

Green Building Concept For Own House

The design, maintaince and construction of buildings have tremendous effect on our enviornment and natural
resources. • Green Building is different from the other buildings because it use a minimum amount of
nonrenewable energy, produce minimal pollution, increases the comfort, health and safety of the people who
work in them. • It also minimize the waste in construction by recovering materials and reusing or recycling
them.

CHAPTER 2: LITERATURE REVIEW

Literature review

Development greatly influences environmental sustainability and

quality. The concept of green building is one solution to minimize
environmental damage due to construction. The concept of green building
requires greater investment than conventional building. Life Cycle Cost
(LCC) impacts the cost of planning, building’s operational and maintenance
cost and residual cost. Recently, research of green building on cost analysis is
developing rapidly. There are so many studies of green building on cost
analysis with different methods. This research addressed several relevant
methods and is expected to set clear which methods to use for the future
research under green building topics. This journal is meant to find out
research method used in determining green building on cost analysis. The
method to be carried out is a literature review of 14 relevant reputable
journals from 2013-2020. The most widely used method is the Life Cycle
Cost Analysis (LCCA).
