IV SAFETY STANDARDS DECK

Is the deck machinery well maintained and guarded where appropriate?

V MOORING EQUIPMENT

Any physical damages to the mooring mechanism

All controls, linkages and the operating levers are well oiled, greased and
free / easy to use.

Ensure that all the brake drums and linings are suitably dried and clean of
salt deposits.

Regular inspections must be made of the winch / windlass brake linings for
wear and tear.

VI ACCOMODATION AREA

Escape routes unobstructed and free of tripping and slipping hazards, emergency exits
clearly marked.

All lights fully operational, stairways and work areas adequately lighted.

All Emergency lights operational, all emergency equipment in place, accessible and
operational.

All handrails and guard‑rails correctly fitted and secure, all ladder ways
guarded by railings.
All safety signs and hazard zone identification signs correctly positioned
and clearly readable (e.g. No‑Smoking signs, Exit arrows, PPE related
posters).

All portable fire extinguishers correctly stowed, easily accessible and within specified
examination date.

Fire‑fighting containers with covers provided and correctly placed.

Company policy regarding HSE-Q and Company Drug and Alcohol


Statement Policy

All fire hoses correctly stowed, free of cuts and abrasions, and valves unobstructed and
easily operated.

Lifejackets and immersion suites correctly stowed and in good order.

Internal communications equipment tested and operating correctly.

All areas clean, orderly and free of combustible rubbish.
