Breaststroke:- In a prone posture, a swimming stroke is performed by synchronising a kick in

which the legs are pulled forward with the knees together and the feet are rotated outward and
whipped back with a glide and a backward sweeping action of the arms.

A. Head positions
Learning a precise head position in the breaststroke technique allows a swimmer to
travel further and faster. We must lift our heads and chests out of the water as we begin
to use our arms to pull up water. And, rather than allowing the chin to tuck as the arms
pull down, we must maintain the same position of the head as when we are in the
streamline.

B. Body position
Swimming is difficult due to large changes in philosophy generated by the legs'
recuperation phase. The kick and pull, which occur separately, provide propulsion. The
most efficient method is to streamline the legs behind the swimmer as the pool emerges
and the arms in front of the swimmer as the kick occurs. Our arm pulling motion is
compact, capturing the water effectively. When kicking, we must maintain our knees as
close together as possible to reduce resistance. When drawing up the heels, we must be
careful to simultaneously drive our hips down and forward, as this will decide the high
bodyline in the water. After each stroke, we must be in a horizontal and streamlined
position that lowers drag while also improving propulsion.

C. Breathing

The body must be in an inclined position for breathing. Pause for 2 seconds at the
conclusion of the stroke when underwater in streamline. To reduce drag, breathe out
underwater and face down towards the pool's bottom.
