DRY HAIR
Why is it dry?
Y o u r h a i r s h a ft c a n n o t r e t a i n o r a b s o r b t h e m o i s t u r e i t n e e d s , o r
produce the necessary sebum to keep hair hydrated. As a result, the
hair looks frizzy, lifeless, and breaks easily.

Remedies:
If this is your hair type, oils are going to be your best allies. Be
sure to:
Keep your hair hydrated at all times.
Whenever you can, let your hair dry outdoors and avoid heat from
irons and curling irons.

GREASY HAIR
O i l y h a i r c o n d i ti o n c a n c a u s e t h e f o l l o w i n g h a i r p r o b l e m s : d a n d r u ff ,
seborrhea, and acne.
Remedies:
Have herbs and essential oils, such as bergamot, mint, cedar, cypress,
rosemary, geranium, juniper, lemon, lime, tea tree, and lavender for
your recipes.
Clays and other ingredients such as rice and flour will help you hydrate
without adding extra oils, in addition to regulating the oil production of
your hair.
Avoid washing your hair too often. It will only further stimulate sebum
production. Try to space washes with natural shampoos, dry shampoos,
and with mask recipes that help absorb the oil.
Don't abuse the comb either. It will only stimulate your sebaceous
glands and spread the oil even further.
Chemicals in hair products dry out hair and make skin want to fight
them, producing even more sebum. If you have no choice but to use a
commercial product, add an infusion of your favorite herbs.

I n t h e t a b l e , y o u w i l l fi n d t h e e s s e n ti a l o i l s t h a t I h a v e t r i e d , t h a t I
like, and that are readily available for you. There are so many more.
I n t h e s a m e r e c i p e , y o u c a n c o m b i n e s e v e r a l e s s e n ti a l
oils. However, overloaded is not recommended. An excess of
e s s e n ti a l o i l c a n c a u s e i r r i t a ti o n ; s o , i n a m a s k , t w o o r t h r e e d r o p s
are enough. If you want to combine them, one of each type of oil is
acceptable.
You can use it for all hair recipes to massage, to add to masks,
s h a m p o o s , a n d c o n d i ti o n e r s .
V e g e t a b l e o i l s a r e t h e s t a r i n g r e d i e n t s w h e n i t c o m e s t o h y d r a ti n g
hair. Besides, they serve to nourish, because they come from seeds
a n d o t h e r n a t u r a l f o o d s w i t h n u m e r o u s b e n e fi c i a l p r o p e r ti e s f o r o u r
h e a l t h a n d o u r h a i r . T h e s e o i l s c o n t a i n f a tt y a c i d s s i m i l a r t o t h o s e
produced by our bodies, so they can penetrate the skin and replace
the nutrients that we lack.
When it comes to oil, you can have the autonomy to try the oil that
you think is most suitable according to your hair type or according
to your goals. This is always a personal preference. It may be that a
person likes coconut oil rather than almond, while another prefers
almond. Dry hairs are not all equally dry, nor greasy strands so oily.
I n a d d i ti o n , e a c h o i l d i ff e r s i n a r o m a a n d t e x t u r e . I A d v i s e a n d
recommend you to try and not to worry, because they are natural
products that will never make you harm. Don't get complicated
either.
Start with the ingredients that you have at home or that suit you
best with your hair type. You don't need to buy four types of oils at
t h e s a m e ti m e .
I n t h e t a b l e , y o u ´ l l fi n d t h e m o s t u s e d v e g e t a b l e o i l s . Y o u c a n u s e i t
to do oil treatments (that is to say before you wash your hair and
apply heat. We will see this in one of the chapters). They can be
u s e d t o a d d t o y o u r m a s k s , c o n d i ti o n e r s , a n d o t h e r r e c i p e s .
Vegetable oils do not always make the hair greasy if you apply the
r i g h t a m o u n t . Y o u c a n t r y a d d i n g j u s t a t e a s p o o n o f c o ff e e t o e a c h
recipe, and see if it hydrates your hair or not. When combined with
a fast-absorbing ingredient such as rice or cornstarch, there is less
chance of leaving hair greasy.
Infusions:
As for the infusions, you can use them for hair massages, or add it
to any recipe containing water. It is also a way to enhance and add
b e n e fi t s .
As we have said before, when you see a new recipe, you can have
a u t o n o m y a n d i m a g i n a ti o n t o t r y n e w t h i n g s . P l a y w i t h t h e s e
ingredients. Try what works best on you! In this chart, you will see

make yourself by boiling herbs or spices.

I understand there are people who think that this is nonsense, and
that the only thing they want is something to use on their heads for
a q u i c k l y c h a n g e . B u t , t h e t r a n s f o r m a ti o n b e g i n s f r o m o n e s e l f , a n d I
w i l l n e v e r b e ti r e o f r e p e a ti n g t h i s . I t i s c l e a r t h a t t h e r e a r e m a n y
i n fl u e n c i n g f a c t o r s , b u t m i n d i s s t r o n g a n d w e m u s t p a y a tt e n ti o n t o
it.
Why am I telling you this? I was one of the persons who repeated
t h i s m o s t o f t h e ti m e s a n d o f c o u r s e , h a i r d i d n ’ t g r o w e n o u g h . I t
remained to the shoulders for many years. Now, looking back, I
consider there are three steps that played an important role in my
process:
1 - A N A L Y Z E : T h e fi r s t t h i n g i s t o a n a l y z e w h a t m a y b e c a u s i n g t h e
p r o b l e m . I n m y c a s e , I k n e w t h a t t h e b a d c o n d i ti o n o f m y h a i r w a s
due to my bad habits: the use of chemicals, irons, dyes, poor diet,
stress, lack of well-being...
2 - S O L V E : O n c e t h e p r o b l e m i s i d e n ti fi e d , s o l u ti o n s s h o u l d b e
sought and focused on instead of the problem. I forgot about the
length and growth that worried me so much and just focused on
doing things right.
3- TRUST: If you do not believe 100% in something, you will not get
t h e b e s t r e s u l t s . I t i s u s e l e s s t o i n v e s t ti m e u s i n g n a t u r a l p r o d u c t s ,
if you think that your hair is not going to improve. I knew that
i m p r o v i n g m y u n h e a l t h y h a b i t s a n d r o u ti n e s w a s t h e s o l u ti o n , a n d
when I decided to change; them, I fully trusted the process. That´s
the key! If there is something that has prompted you to start taking
care of your hair with natural products, it is for a reason, follow the
p a t h w i t h p o s i ti v i t y a l t h o u g h y o u m a y e n c o u n t e r d i ffi c u l ti e s a l o n g
the way.

simple ingredient like vinegar!" Other kind of thoughts do not help
t o i m p r o v e a n d o n l y g e n e r a t e n e g a ti v i t y .

y o u . T h i s i s e s s e n ti a l b e f o r e a n y p a t h o r d e c i s i o n w e m a k e i n o u r
lives. Has it ever happened to you, that you have signed up for the
gym, or started a diet, or something new like the course, and

Some people ask me, "... but if you take care of your hair so much,
w h y d o y o u h a v e s o m e ti m e s f r i z z ? " T h i s q u e s ti o n h a s a n e a s y
answer and is that my hair type is just like that. We all have some
b e tt e r h a i r d a y s t h a n o t h e r s , b u t i t w i l l n e v e r b e l i k e o n e o f t h e a d s
just because of a product.
The concept of healthy hair for some people is very wrong. All this,
always reminds me of the subject of diets and the idea of a perfect
b o d y . T h e c u r r e n t a e s t h e ti c s t a n d a r d s a r e n o t n a t u r a l l y a c h i e v a b l e
e i t h e r . O u r h a i r c a n b e h e a l t h y a n d b e a u ti f u l e v e n i f i t d o e s n ' t l o o k
like the one in magazines!
It does not mean that we cannot improve the appearance of our
hair. I assure you that my hair has changed since I switched to
natural care. But, we cannot achieve miracles. The only way to
d r a m a ti c a l l y t r a n s f o r m h a i r i s w i t h a b r a s i v e t r e a t m e n t s . I n m y c a s e ,
I prefer to have healthy hair for more years instead of having a
magazine standard hair because of chemical treatments and having
to depend on them all my life to end up having just four strands.
It is a vicious circle. The hair industry creates the problem for us,
t h e u n a tt a i n a b l e i d e a l , a n d p r e s e n t s a s o l u ti o n t o a c h i e v e i t , i t s
p r o d u c t s . B u t , a t t h e s a m e ti m e , s o m e o f i t s i n g r e d i e n t s t a k e y o u
away from the goal of having the perfect hair. For example, the
s i l i c o n s t h a t l e a v e h a i r s o ft a n d s i l k y i n m o s t p r o d u c t s , t o g e t h e r
w i t h t h e h a r m f u l a c ti v e i n g r e d i e n t s , d e s t r o y o u r n a t u r a l o i l s . W e
l o a d o u r n a t u r a l o i l t o g i v e f a l s e h y d r a ti o n t o o u r h a i r a n d t h e n ,
need more products to re-hydrate it.
The same goes for trends. They make short hair fashionable, so you
cut it. Then, they make long hair stylish, and sell you wigs and
extensions. The same happens with the color. When highlights are
in fashion, everyone does it; and then, the hair is damaged, and it
needs a cut, then the long hair trend is back. They jump from one
fashion to another, and we leave our hair, trying to follow them
all. I have nothing against changing your look. I think it is excellent
to change if it makes you happy, but you have to be aware of the
consequences and to know that there are no magic remedies or
repairing miracles.
The industry is full of products that promise that your hair will
overgrow, or even the Internet. If you search "grow hair in a week"
or "grow hair in a day" on YouTube, you will see hundreds of
tutorials in which a girl usually appears on the cover with a before
a n d a ft e r p h o t o . T h e y a l w a y s t a k e t h e " b e f o r e " p h o t o a ft e r c u tti n g
t h e e n d s . A n d t h e o n e " a ft e r " c o r r e s p o n d s t o t h e " b e f o r e " o f h a v i n g
c u t t h e m o ff . D o n o t b e f o o l e d . I r e p e a t , m i r a c l e h a i r s d o n o t
exist. Some ingredients enhance growth, but if your hair is not
h e a l t h y , i t w i l l c o n ti n u e t o b r e a k a n d g i v e y o u t h e f e e l i n g t h a t i t
never grows.
T h e y a l s o t r y t o a tt r a c t b u y e r s b y h i tti n g w h e r e i t h u r t s t h e
m o s t . W h o d o e s n ' t h a v e a n y s p l i t e n d s ? W e o ff e r s p l i t e n d s
repairers. But the hair cannot be repaired. You can improve their
appearance, so when they sell you a product as a repairman, do not
buy into this.
A n o t h e r n e w d e c e p ti o n i s t h a t t h e y m a k e u s b e l i e v e t h a t w e a r e
using natural products. There are several strategies related to
this. One is to print fruits in the product packaging. If they paint
fruits in products because they are good for the hair, it would be

and not because I have split ends. I cut it for a reason; I already
had the length I wanted. At the moment, I do not wish to have my
hair longer because there is a point where it is uncomfortable to
me, and that is when I sit down, I catch my hair, and it hurts! I try
to keep the right length so that this does not happen to me, and
thus match my hair with the short outer layers that I did four years
ago and which I regret.

e v e r y t w o d a y s . A ft e r t w o w e e k s , w a s h i t e v e r y t h r e e d a y s . I n t h e
next two weeks, every four days ... and so on. Every two weeks, you
i n c r e a s e t h e ti m e b e t w e e n w a s h i n g a d a y o r m o r e i f y o u c a n . T h e
whole process will take you over two months.
You can also use these strategies to keep hair clean longer:
It is said there are two ways to wear hair, clean or up in tight styles. It
makes a lot of sense because the tight hairstyles help us disguise oily
hair. You can use the gel from chapter four to create your looks.
This might not seem important, but to make your hair stay cleaner for
longer, try to keep your brush clean because when we brush it to
remove dirt, it stays on the brush, and if you don’t clean it, you will be
brushing it back into the hair.
You should not also make the mistake of rubbing too much when
shampooing your hair. You can damage the scalp, excessively stimulate
the production of oil, and it is unnecessary when applying a shampoo.
Remove traces of impurities with scrub. It will help you to clean in-
depth and to last longer. You can use the dandruff one, or the
alternatives we'll see later in chapter 16.
If you are one of those people who has to wash your hair very often
due to itchy scalp, you can use a soothing infusion, such as lavender for
your daily massage. It will help you to calm down the itchy feeling. If
the itching is still unbearable, wash it off and keep in mind the exfoliant,
the rinses, and avoiding all the irritating ingredients mentioned in
Chapter 4.
Using the course´s recipe will also help you in this matter, including the
use of a natural shampoo. The most important thing to take into
account is the election of harmless shampoos rather than the type of
hair it is intended for. Shampoo remains short period on the scalp as to
have a grow or anti fall effect. The essential is that it cleans without
damaging the hair and stimulate our oil glands! For oily or dry hair, we
will use infusions, masks, and conditioners. I think that if we all have a

The bicarbonate can cleanse, exfoliate our scalp, and help remove

and set it to 170 degrees maximum. Run the iron once through
each lock. The heat will open the strands and the aluminum
will protect the hair from excessive heat.
