Deepak Sarin is a highly qualified hotel professional with a long-standing experience in the hospitality
industry that spans more than fifty-one years.

He has the exceptional credit of having been employed by the finest trailblazing hotel chains in India –
Oberoi, Taj and ITC Hotels. He has held some key responsibility portfolios including positions of CEO,
President, Director, Vice President-Operations, and Projects & Development.

His in-depth understanding of market practices within the Industry has endowed him with his current
status, of being a well-regarded Hospitality Advisor and Consultant. His well-honed experience enables
him to conduct evaluations, appraisals, planning and execution for hospitality ventures from the early
stages of inception up till commissioning for Operations. He pairs hotel brands with Operators for
Technical & Management services and Operations.

Deepak’s industry experience is worldwide. He has worked in London, Morocco and Kathmandu for the
Taj International Hotels to set up hospitality ventures, together with evaluating and implementing hotel
developments in Sanaa, Dubai, Tashkent, and Samarkand.

He has handled several other interesting international assignments.

In Zambia he operated an exclusive complex for the Commonwealth Heads of State and developed
national game lodges for the State.

In Bangkok, as Head of a hospitality company, he set up a major hotel project under the Amari brand,
and a luxury Serviced Apartment, with a Singapore-based brand.

Having lived in Japan for five years, Deepak speaks Japanese, and to him goes the credit of setting up the
very first Japanese restaurant in India at the Oberoi Hotel Mumbai in 1974.

In Delhi, he was instrumental in setting up the iconic Hotel Taj Mansingh in 1976-79, while additionally
planning several hotels for the Taj group’s development growth strategy.

In Hyderabad, he set up and managed the Krishna Oberoi.

In Kolkata, he was instrumental in the start-up activities of the ITC Sonar Bangla project.

His last full-time assignment was COO of JHM Interstate Hotels, representing the American parent
company in India. Deepak was responsible for the Company’s operations, integrating and supporting
their intelligent systems within the hotel portfolio, maintaining owner relationships and executing on
the Company’s overall growth strategy.

Over subsequent years, he has been advising several business entrepreneurs who aspire to direct their
energies into the burgeoning hotel industry and has been assisting in the development of numerous
hospitality projects, guiding the planning process with architects, interior designers, project
management companies, facility planners, implementing cost cutting measures with analytical
evaluations, meeting time frames, and management tie ups where required.

As the Head of various hospitality groups, Deepak has coordinated the setting up of multifarious service-
oriented projects such as hospitals with Fortis Healthcare, health club & spa, shopping mall, Golf courses
including a golf course in Marrakesh and the DLF Golf course in Gurgaon.

Born in Shanghai, he is an MBA from Delhi University, with a degree from the Oberoi School of Hotel
Management, and specialized courses from AH&MA, and Cornell University, USA. He has been a Fellow
of the Hotel and Catering International Management Association (FHCIMA) U.K.

Deepak Sarin has been felicitated with the Hi Aim Honours Award 2022, ‘in recognition to the proven
contribution to the Hospitality Industry’. He was honoured at the prestigious annual conference Event
that provides a platform for interaction for Hospitality Professionals and decision makers, Hotel Brands,
Architects & Interior Designers.
