1.1 Changing the paper roll

WARNING
Only paper approved for use with the printer should be used. Use of incorrect paper leads
to poor printing quality. The paper roll should not be inserted crookedly.
CAUTION
Do not touch the printing head and cutting edge when the cover is open. There is a risk of
burning
and injury.

1. Open the paper roll cover (2) by

pressing the button (1).
2. Insert a new roll as shown in the

Paper roll dimensions: Width 58 mm, Diameter 40-50 mm, Paper thickness 60-65 µm.
Recommended paper TF50-KS-E2D (Nippon paper) or similar.
1.2 Charging the battery
The battery should be charged if:
– the buzzer sounds 3 times
– "Low Battery" is printed on the paper.
Activate the main switch on the distributor box.
In the event of problems occurring during charging, battery charging is interrupted and the
charging LED (1-1/1) flashes RED.

1-2
WARNING
Battery recharging should be realised at an ambient temperature between 5-35 °C. Do not
start a renewed recharging procedure after the battery has been fully charged. This can
damage the battery.
Use of the printer in a cold environment can shorten the service life of the battery. The
battery should be replaced if its functioning duration after complete recharging is still very
short.
1.3 Printer functions
1.3.1 Auto power OFF
The printer switches off automatically if no data exchange with the control panel occurs
within a set period of time or the paper feed button (LF) is not actuated.
The factory time setting is 60 minutes. After an automatic shutdown, the printer behaves
as if it has been deactivated with the ON/OFF button.
1.3.2 Monitoring the battery charge status (battery capacity)
The battery charge status is automatically monitored after the printer is switched on (prior
to paper feeding or printing).
The battery should be recharged immediately if the buzzer sounds 3 times or "Low
Battery" is printed on the paper.
1.3.3 Monitoring the printing head temperature
In the event of the printing head temperature exceeding 65 °C for any reason, printing is
interrupted immediately and the power LED (1-1/2) flashes slowly RED/GREEN.
The printer is ready for operation again if the printing head temperature returns to 60 °C or
lower.
1.3.4 Self test and internal settings
Proceed as follows to conduct self test:
1. Press the LF button (1-1/6) and hold down.
2. Press the ON/OFF button (1-1/5) and hold down.
3. Release the ON/OFF button (1-1/5).
4. Release the LF button (1-1/6).
A self test report is printed immediately after the LF button (1-1/6) is released. The self
test contains details of the configured auto-power off time, the current printing head
temperature, battery output voltage, communication mode and printing data baud rate.
The number of markings in brackets beside the battery voltage indicates the charge status
of the battery in 5 stages.
