4) Leadership Conflicts

Everybody has a different leadership style, and everybody reacts differently to those
leadership styles. Some leaders are bold and charismatic, others are more laid-back,
warm, and inviting. Some are highly technical and strict on rules and deadlines, and
others are so hands-off you hardly see them.

Resolution
 Calm Down
The first step is to calm down and accept the reality of conflict. Next, come up
with a plan to deal with the problem by talking with the other person(s) involved
before the tension grows into something unbearable between you.
 Communicate via Active Listening
Have a sit-down somewhere and make sure both of you have a chance to say
everything you need to say. Do not just wait for your turn to talk, really listen to
the other person. Be attentive to their words and try to think how they think and
feel how they feel. Ask questions to make sure you understood what they meant
to say, and not just what you thought they were saying.

5) Poor communication
Being able to stay in contact with important people, whether they be colleagues or
clients, is of the utmost importance in today’s business world. A free flow of ideas is a
foundational aspect of productivity. Unfortunately, some businesses have difficulty with
many facets of communication.

Resolution
 Keep communications simple
You must be clear in your communications so the end reader or listener can
easily digest the information. When sending out comms, you cannot be entirely
sure most of your message has been understood. It is important to understand
your audience and use the right tone in your content to keep your employees
engaged and productive.
 Seek out feedback and take action
Employee feedback is fundamental to organizational growth and can significantly
influence your internal comms strategy. Many companies encourage feedback
but do not take any action to respond or acknowledge the information, due to
fear of complaints or revealing employee unhappiness within the workplace.
6) Lack of respect
It is important for people in a business to know that they are important. Yet somehow
this is one of the biggest workplace problems facing many team members today. Toiling
for hours on difficult tasks or constantly delivering whenever called upon is something
that should be commended. This will keep team members happy because they feel
valued and make them think twice before opening job listings.

Resolution
 Send email to company management
Just like most workplace issues, there are several different ways you can attack a
lack of respect or appreciation within your business. Send an email to your team
or the company pointing out the quality of work of those who deserve it. Or take
your team out to lunch or give them an early mark as a thank you for their
continued efforts. Just showing that somebody is paying attention, whether you
are a manager or a colleague with the same title, can go a long way in helping
somebody feel appreciated.
 Enforcing Respect
Write clear policies and procedures by which to govern a safe and healthy
workplace, including methods by which incidents are handled. Communicate
these policies to employees in order to assure them that they can count on the
company to quickly resolve problems. Workers can trust the company more if
enforcement and consequences regarding the standards of behavior apply to
everyone within the organization.
