CATC GUIDELINES AND PROCEDURES


INTRODUCTION TO AIRPORT MANAGEMENT COURSE (IAMC) BATCH 01/22

The Introduction to Airport Management Course will be conducted through a virtual classroom. Instructor and
trainee will meet online through an online training platform of the instructor’s choosing. The End-of-Module
(EOM) Tests and Module Opinion Questionnaires (MOQs) shall be administered digitally and links shall
also be sent to each individual trainee at the scheduled time.
I. RESPONSIBILITIES
A. TRAINEES
1. Trainees shall ensure that they have reliable internet connections for continuous viewing
of the virtual sessions, timely downloading of the materials, accessing and answering
EOM Tests, MOQs and timing in and out.
2. Trainees should have a valid Google email account.

3. The Gmail account shall be used for accessing the Zoom Meeting, Google Classroom
and other pertinent communications for the conduct of this training.

4. Upon receipt of this email, immediately send acknowledgement and concurrence to the
guidelines to the CATC (email address: catc.manila@gmail.com/catc@caap.gov.ph).
Complete the registration form to officially confirm your attendance to this course
before April 8, 2022.

5. Trainees must continuously monitor the email address they have submitted for
communications or announcements sent in relation to the conduct of Introduction to
Airport Management Course.

6. Trainees shall have the following applications installed / accessible from their devices
and ensure to familiarize themselves with the use of the following applications:

A. Zoom
1. How to join a meeting on Zoom from a PC.
2. How to join a meeting on Zoom from a phone. (You will need to download
the Zoom mobile app.)
messaging during the meeting.

B. Google Classroom
1. How to join a class.
2. How to view announcements, turn in requirements

C. PDF Reader
1. Download and install a PDF Reader as the learning materials will be in PDF
format.

7. Should the trainee not have access to reliable internet connection, he/she may undergo
the training at the CATC. Please coordinate with the CATC at least three (3) working
days prior to the beginning of the course. Guidelines for attending Introduction to
Airport Management Course.
A. HEALTH SAFETY PROTOCOL
1. Trainee should present a COVID-19 vaccination card upon entry to CATC premises.
2. Trainee is required to wear a face mask at all times.
3. Trainee must submit to a temperature check and practice social distancing.
4. Trainee should bring his/her own pen for filling out attendance and registration forms.
5. Trainees who exhibit signs and symptoms of COVID-19 infection will not be permitted entry in
the CATC premises.

B. TRAINING SCHEDULE/ROUTINE
1. Trainee is expected to be at the CATC from 9:00AM to 4:00PM from April 18 - 29,
2022. He/ She shall follow the schedule of the online trainees.
2. Trainee must bring their own laptop, tablet or smartphone to join the virtual sessions
and obtain Introduction to Airport Management Course (IAMC) module handouts and
access the registration, DTR, EOM tests and MOQ forms. All of the learning process
will be the same as that of the online trainees except that they will be in the CATC.
II. TRAINING SCHEDULE/ROUTINES
A. ATTENDANCE and CLASS SCHEDULE
1. Duration: April 18 - 29, 2022
2. Training Attendance:
a) Training starts at 9:00AM daily. Trainee needs to access the online DTR form for

their time in and time out.


b) Tardiness in excess of 30 minutes shall be considered an absence.
c) One (1) unexcused absence or one (1) tardiness may be cause for dismissal.
d) All absences and tardiness shall be explained in writing. Evaluation and acceptance
/ denial of the explanation for the said absence and tardiness will be done by the
Chief, Training Implementation Division.
e) Strict compliance to the posting of DTR form. Timestamp shall be the basis of the
official time of log in and out.

3. Training Schedule:
The Introduction to Airport Management Course (IAMC) will have its opening
activities on A p r i l 1 8 , 2 0 2 2 . The ZoomMeeting Room will be opened 30
minutes before the start of the virtual session.

Trainees are required to join the meeting at least 10 minutes before it starts. Please refer
to your pre-training materials for the detailed schedule of the course.
There will be 1-hour lunch break from 12 NN to 1 PM daily.

B. QUESTIONS/CLARIFICATIONS
Questions, clarifications, comments, possible technical issues shall be coursed through Google
Classroom by posting a private comment on the question or announcement on the Classwork
page of Google Classroom. The response to your message will appear on the same page.
Alternatively, you can call the CATC at 87763043/87763044 or send an email to
catc@caap.gov.ph/catc.manila@gmail.com with the Subject: (COURSE TITLE/BATCH
NO/TOPIC).
C. EXPECTED NETIQUETTES
A learning environment whether in CATC or online should be a space that fosters thoughtful
and productive discussions on course-related matters. The trainees are highly encouraged to
maintain an atmosphere of mutual respect and courtesy at all times. They are enjoined to
abide by the following ground rules to enhance their online learning experience.
1. Participate: If the trainee is attending a virtual session/class, the camera of the device
being used shall be turned on during the duration of the virtual session. Trainees are
encouraged to keep their background uncluttered. The microphone should be muted
unless otherwise requested to unmute. Questions and comments during the virtual
session should be coursed through the chat box. Most importantly, the trainee is
expected to share in the conversation. For the maximum benefit to all, everyone must
contribute.
2. Report Glitches: Discussion forums, online and virtual classes are electronic and are
liable to break from time to time. If for any reason you experience any difficulty, please
call, email, or otherwise inform the CATC about the issue.
3. Use Proper Writing Style: An online training or virtual class is a professional
environment. Correct spelling, grammar, and style are expected in all academic
undertaking even if it is online. Refrain from using text speak or linguistic shortcuts
(e.g. :-), emoticons and c u l8r) or other bodies of language that are not part of academic
dialogue.
4. No Flaming: Criticism is a central part of a healthy learning environment. However,
it must be constructive, well-meaning, and well-articulated. Rants directed at any
trainee, instructor, course supervisor are highly unacceptable. Tantrums, bashing or
profanity will likewise not be tolerated.

5. Be Patient: Read everything in the guidelines before asking any questions. This will
help save time that can be used to answer relevant questions. If participating in a forum,
read everything in the discussion thread before replying. This will help avoid repeating
something someone else has already contributed. Acknowledge the points made with
which you agree and suggest alternatives for those with which you don’t.
The trainees should be mindful of the electronic footprint they leave behind. Language is a
powerful tool in an online environment. It can shape how one is perceived by the training
community. Once the message is sent or posted, it is a public record. The trainees are reminded
that any infraction against proper decorum, conduct and discipline shall be dealt with
accordingly.
D. DRESS CODE
Smart casual is expected during the virtual sessions thus no wearing of pajamas,
sando/spaghetti straps and the like. Trainees should be dressed as they would if the training
were in the CATC premises.
III. ASSESSMENT and MODULE OPINION QUESTIONNAIRE
l. The EOM Test and MOQs shall be in digital format and shall be accessible through a link to be
supplied by the CATC to the trainees half an hour after the handouts for the module havebeen
sent. EOM Tests and MOQs shall be submitted at the end of the scheduled hour for thespecific
module at the latest.
2. The passing grade shall be 75%. Any trainee who obtains failing grade lower than 75% shall
re-take the examination. Re-take examinations will have to be accomplished immediately.
Passing mark for the re-take examination is 80%.
3. There will be no rescheduling of online examinations.

IV. GRADUATION
1. No graduation ceremony will be conducted for this course
2. Trainees will be informed of the availability of the certificates of completion. Once
available, the trainee or his/her representative may receive the certificate from the
CATC. An authorization letter and a photocopy of trainee & representative's
identification card must be presented.
