SPEAKING PART 3

TOPIC 1:
“ Men of few words are the best men.” – William Shakespeare.
Do you agree or disagree with this quote? Give reasons and examples from your reading, experience or
observations to support your point of view.
I totally agree with this quote “ Men of few words are the best men” because – man of few words have three
inherent advantages over the ones who chatter: healthy, intelligent and successful
Firstly, men of few words you have less stress and anxiety. If you are a man of few words, you will be
relaxed and commit no mistakes. If you talk less, your happiness will be high, and you will get better sleep at
night. => nội dung hơi kì, c ko hiểu ý đoạn này
Secondly, men of few words are intelligent because they talk less and listen more. When you talk, you are
only repeating what you already know. But if you listen, you may learn something new.
Thirdly, a man of few words is more successful because he knows the power of words and uses them to his
advantage.

TOPIC 2:
“ A friend in need is a friend indeed.”
Do you agree or disagree with this saying? Give reasons and example from your reading, experience or
observations to support your point of view.
The saying goes 'A friend in need is a friend indeed', and it is very accurate. Some people only know others
when they are in trouble or need a helping hand, but when the time comes to give the assistance they
received, it's not happening.
First of all, a friend in need helps one feel less lonely. A helpful friend certainly eliminates feelings of loneliness.
This is because such a friend reflects life back and all the things one has in common.
A friend in need is someone who provides a reality check for you. Such a friend, besides telling positive things, is
not afraid to explain an individual’s shortcomings. This certainly helps an individual in overcoming his
weaknesses.
In conclusion, “A friend in need is a friend indeed” is a saying which describes a real friend. Furthermore, the
true test of a friendship is during times of difficulties.

TOPIC 3:
Should the time for Vietnamses university education be shortened to 3-4 years instead of 4-6 years like before?
Why? Give your opinion and support it with reasons and examples taken from your reading, experience, or
observations.
Well, 4-6 years is such a long period of time. Therefore, I think 3 to 4 years is enough for a person to gain
knowledge of specific areas of study meanwhile 4-6 years is quite long for most of the majors right now in
Vietnam.
In addition, not all students have enough money to pursue a long higher education. Some students might
find it difficult to study that long due to their struggle with finance. University tuition is pretty expensive,
which means not everyone can continue to study tertiary education if it is extended to 6 years.
Students need to work in reality to gain sufficient hands-on experience. - While schools focus on theories,
companies arm the students with practical experience.
For what I have mentioned above, I couldn’t agree with this idea anymore.

TOPIC 4:
“ Great minds have purposes, little minds have wishes.” – Washingtin Irving
Do you agree or disagree with this statement? Give reasons and example from your reading, experience or
observations to support your point of view.
Our expectations carry a huge part of our decisions. If we just crave for things, but something challenging is
in the way, it’s not going to happen. After all, it’s only a wish, only a dream.

The people with a great passion and project are the ones who know what they are performing, and why they
are creating it. With both, we have direction and a driving force. If we have no purpose, what will we
suppose to accomplish? If we have a purpose, like helping others, we will surely get something done sooner
or later one day.

As with life in general, there is a lot of gray areas, and what is best for us might not be the best for others.
We’ll have to figure out what we are going to do, but at least we should have thought about it. Let us take the
time to examine life. Now, are we going to do it on purpose, or are we just going to wish something would
happen? It’s up to our desires and craving for it always.

TOPIC 5:
“ It is impossible to have both a successful carrer and a happy family life at the same time.”
Do you agree or disagree with this point of view? Give reasons and example from your reading, experience or
observations to support your point of view.
I completely disagree with the idea “It is impossible to have both a successful career and a happy family life
at the same time.” Why do I say so?
As long as we can get a job that we want/ wish for, our lives, specifically family life, will turn out to be full of
happiness. Successful and happy or not depends on your true feelings. If we are doing what we have been
dreaming of, we will be happy. We are physically and emotionally working what we are supposed to do in
life, it is undoubtedly true that our family lives will be likely to be great.
We can surely keep balance between being successful in working and living happily with our families by
using time concisely and cognitively. You spend a certain amount of time working, and the rest you spend on
your family. Investing time equally between working and nurturing family is the key to have both success
and happiness.
In short, we need to put our hearts on these two things to have a meaningful life.
