4.1.7.3. Push the button above “SAVE SETUP”, and then “ENTER”
4.2.2.1. The analyzer should start measurements, but the process is not complete
yet. Press the SETUP button again.
4.2.2.4. Press the arrow keys until “AQUISITION” is selected, and press ENTER.
4.2.2.5. Make sure MAX FREQ = 200 HZ, MIN FREQ = 0 HZ, LINES = 400,
WINDOW = HANNING, FS RANGE = 0.0.
4.2.2.7. Press the arrow keys until “AVERAGING” is selected and press ENTER

4.2.2.13. Press the arrow keys until “ALARM” is selected and press ENTER
4.2.2.16. Press the arrow keys until “UNITS” is selected and press ENTER
4.2.2.19. Press the arrow keys until “SENSOR” is selected and press ENTER
4.3.1. The meter is now ready for analysis. Press the button with the circle on (1910)
or the “START” button (1900) to start the analysis.
4.3.2. At the start of an analysis, the reading on the top is the OVERALL reading for
the 1910. For the 1900 the overall reading is shown on the screen next to the
“OVR=”. Once started, press the left and right arrows and the cursor will come
on. Measurements can then be obtained at the spikes at a specific frequency
(such as 58-60 HZ). The OVERALL measurement will NOT appear again
unless the analysis is started again by pressing the button with the circle on it
(this applies to the 1910 only).
4.3.3. For reference, when moving the cursor (using the left/right arrows) on top of a
spike, that is the vibration velocity reading at that particular frequency. When
the OVERALL reading appears when first starting a measurement, this is the
square root of the sum of all the squares of the values of the spikes at each
frequency.
4.4.1 This procedure is for use only with a new unit or after the Vibrotest 60 has lost
its configuration.
4.4.2 Soft keys are the four blue buttons that correspond to the four options displayed
on the screen.
4.4.4.1 Setup 1 = 2: No
4.4.9.8 Averages: 4
4.4.12 On the Configuration screen change the dropdown for Vibration Analyzer to
Vibrotest 60.
4.4.13 Either manually select the drive letter assigned to the card reader, or
insert a card with data saved to it and select the Auto button to find the
drive automatically.
4.5.1 The magnets on the probe are very strong! Caution should be exercised in
attaching, removing, and storing the probe.
4.5.2 The probe should always be installed and removed by grasping the probe
magnetic base. NEVER carry, install, or remove the probe by only holding onto
the cable or accelerometer. The probe should be attached by placing a corner of
the probe on the unit under test and rolling it onto unit. Removal is done in
reverse. The following picture shows the correct procedure to follow when
attaching or removing the probe.
4.5.3 Once the probe is attached to the unit under test it should be rotated to prevent
movement.
4.5.4 The magnetic strips should be parallel with the unit under test as shown below.
4.5.8 Press AVERAGE soft key to enable averaging. (If averaging is not enabled the
unit will continually displayed new data.)
4.5.10.1 The number in the middle on the bottom of the screen will count up to #4
as average is computed. If this number is not displayed then averaging is
not enabled.
4.5.10.2 Once display changes from STOP to START the measurement is done
4.5.11 The image below shows a completed scan with the peak and one sideband
vibration labeled.
4.5.12 To view the measured values prior to storing press the soft key labeled ↑↓Y or
↑↓X until ↑↓Y is displayed (it may already be displayed). Then use the left and
right arrow keys to scroll the cursor across the screen. Place the cursor on the
various vibration peaks. The value of the peak is displayed in the top left of the
screen. The image below shows the cursor on the peak from the previous image.
Here the value of the peak vibration is 0.144.
4.5.13 Press STORE and the following screen appears. It shows the last report name.
4.5.14 Press EDIT soft key to access the report naming screen.
4.5.14 Use the arrow keys and the soft keys to enter the name.
4.5.15 Naming:
4.5.15.3 H / M / B should represent where the vibration reading was taken. Either
Head, Middle, or Base.
4.5.15.4 The number at the end represents how many readings were saved at this
location.
4.5.15.6 For example the first saved measurement taken at the head would end in
H1. The second saved head measurement (if necessary) would end in H2.
The first saved base measurement would end in B1.
4.5.15.7 If the operator was testing equipment serial number 1F1G49665P then the
first head vibration point would be saved as ABCDEFGH23H1. The first
middle vibration point would be saved as ABCDEFGH23M1.
4.5.16.1 From the main menu press the REPORT soft key. A list of all reports
stored on the Vibrotest is displayed. Use the up and down arrows to scroll
through the reports. Pressing the SELECT soft key will display the report.
4.5.17.1 The data card included with the Vibrotest 60 should hold around 4000 test
records. In the event that the card needs to be erased due to limited space
or malfunction use the steps below.
4.5.17.2 If retesting a unit the vibration data from a previous test could possibly be
retrieved. In order to prevent this, the data on the Vibrotest 60 MUST be
erased using the following procedure.
Warning! The following steps will erase all vibration data stored on the Vibrotest 60.
4.5.17.6 Use the arrow keys to highlight Formatting PC Card and press the
SELECT soft key.
4.5.18 Calibration:
4.5.18.1 To view the data when the next calibration is required press the INFO soft
key from the main menu. This calibration must be performed every two
years.
4.5.19.2 Never remove or apply the sensor end, by the accelerometer or the cable;
always grasp the sensor end by the magnet.
4.5.19.3 Over time we have found the sensor cable at the accelerometer end has
failed; this problem can be corrected by replacing the connector end of the
cable. Contact test system for instruction on replacement.
4.5.19.4 The accelerometer for the Vibrotest 60 has a very rigid manufacture
requirement; as a result, the instrument does not have to be re-calibrated
should the accelerometer require replacement. However; because of this, the
accelerometer is very expensive so consider this when handling.
