operation instruction and maintenance of the equipment. Those texts
“Test Specified” or “Standard” mentioned in this manual are for
reference only, please cross check with relevant standards or data for

1 Working Principles：
This Combined Seat and Back Tester is a model of multifunctional test equipment which
adopts integrated and digital control technology. It applies, through cylinders, sequential
forces on seat and back of chair as specified standard to evaluate ability of the chair to
withstand fatigue stresses incurring as a result of person throwing himself on seat and then
leaning against backrest. The force and its applying angle can be adjusted within a certain
range.

This equipment applies widely to office chair and other furniture tests.

3 Operation Introduction：

3.1 Sample Clamping and Installation

3.1.1 Place the chair on platform, find appropriate holes (already drilled on platform) for
caster fixtures then spin the bolt knobs to fix the casters, then install the stoppers at both
sides of chair to prevent chair from tipping during testing. (See Fig. 1)

3.2 How to Operate Touch Screen Box：

3.2.1Turn on power switch at back of control box, wait 5 to 10 seconds until entering the
system interface as shown in Fig. 2

3.2.2 Click “OK” to enter Access System. Key in “1” for Operator and “123456” (original and
changeable) as password, then press “Go” to enter Door Guide page. (See Fig. 3)

3.2.3 As in Fig. 4 Door Guide, select and click green button “Out Force Alternate Action” to
enter work mode of Alternate Action (Fig. 4）

3.2.4 As in Fig.5 for setting of test parameters: T1 is to set delay/waiting time of cylinder
action, T2 is holding time when specified force is attained, T3 is cylinder retracting time, after
that, press START button and hold for three seconds to begin test.

Notes:
*“SV-C” is target times of load, can be set from 0-999999
*“PV-C” can’t be set，to zero clear the value, press RST for at least 3 sec.
*“RPM” is shown only after one cycle
* Press green START button for 3 seconds to start test, touch red STOP button to stop.

3.2.5 Press “Force–Time Wave Display” to view instant force values and curve, press
“BACK” to return to previous page (As in Fig. 6)

3.3 How to Shut Off Machine：

3.3.1 To shut off the machine, press red button STOP, then shut off the power switch at back
of control box.
3.3.2 To guarantee the lifetime, ensure to shut off the power and air source when not in use.

4.Installation and Handling：

4.1 Ensure not to be struck or turned over during handling.

4.2 Installation：
4.2.1 When the machine is moved to installation location, adjust the screws on wheels to
ensure the machine stands firmly and horizontally.
4.2.2 Power Supply: AC 220V，1.0A

Danger: Ensure supply voltage within ±10% of nominal and be properly grounded to avoid
hazards due to electricity leakage

4.2.3 Environmental Condition: 10℃～35℃，RH ≦80%.

Warning: Keep the machine far from magnetic field, corrosive and shaking environment.

5. Cautions and Maintenance

5.1 Cautions：

5.1.1 The force output of cylinder has been calibrated.

5.1.2 Strictly follow requirements for proper power connection.
5.1.3 Operators shall read and understand sufficiently the operation and maintenance of this
equipment before use.
5.1.4 The control and display system of this equipment is precise parts, so it is highly
recommended to use individual power source, and avoid external interference.
5.1.5 Install the machine in a clean and dry location.
5.1.6 Avoid damage when it is moved to other location.
5.1.7 Periodically check the transmission device and adjust if found loose.
5.1.8 Recommend for periodical calibration to ensure accuracy of main and critical parts.
5.1.9 Compressed air source must be filtrated and dried to avoid damage to pneumatic
components.

5.2 Maintenance：

5.2.1 Regularly clean platform surface。

5.2.2 Clean the electroplating surface with engine oil to keep shiny and avoid rusted.
5.2.3 Regularly lubricate those wear parts using grease (add in a small amount of engine oil
5.2.4 Never clean the control box panel with wet cloth to avoid damage to IC parts.
5.2.5 All fixtures must be properly used and kept, and regularly maintained with anti – rusting
oil.
