Scientific research is an unending process. Make a list of current issues

in the field of Environmental Science and discuss the implications.

Pollution: Pollution is those materials that harm our environment. These

harmful materials are called the pollutants. Pollutants can be natural such

as volcanic ash but often it is also man-made so with the passage of time

the pollution of the air, sea and in our entire environment worsens. It often

comes from factories or from human waste dumped in the wrong landfill.

It also causes excessive use of plastic that does not melt no matter how long

it lasts.

Deforestation: Deforestation is the purposeful clearing of forested land.

Often the cause of deforestation is agriculture expansion, wood extraction

and infrastructure. There is a lot of negative effects of deforestation such as

climate change, increase of global warming, Increase in Greenhouse Gas

Emissions, Soil Erosion, Floods, Wildlife Extinction & Habitat Loss,

Acidic Oceans, and the Decline in Life Quality of People.

Global Warming: Global warming is the long-term heating of Earth's

climate system observed since the pre-industrial period (between 1850 and

1900) due to human activities, primarily fossil fuel burning, which

increases heat-trapping greenhouse gas levels in Earth's atmosphere. We

can prevent the worsening of global warming by stopping the felling of

trees and taking care of our environment.

Over Population: Overpopulation refers to an undesirable condition in

which the number of existing human being exceeds the actual carrying

capacity of the earth. Overpopulation is a big problem on our environment

it causes Depletion of Natural Resources, Conflicts and Wars, Rise in

Unemployment, High Cost of Living, Pandemics and Epidemics,

Malnutrition, Starvation and Famine, Water Shortage and many more. One

of the most obvious ways to decrease population is for people to have

fewer children. In countries where babies and young children are less

likely to survive into adulthood, it is more common for families to have a

larger number of children.

Ozone Layer Depletion: The main cause of ozone depletion and the ozone

hole is manufactured chemicals, especially manufactured halocarbon

refrigerants, solvents, propellants, and foam- blowing agents. It is a big

problem in environment also in humans because it causes increased UV

radiation levels at the Earth's surface, which is damaging to human health.

Negative effects include increases in certain types of skin cancers, eye

cataracts and immune deficiency disorders. We can save our ozone layer

by being responsible in doing things that cause the hole in our ozone layer

such as burning plastics, reducing factories and solving the problem of

harmful smoke from vehicles.
