• ROLE OF NEP 2020 IN TEACHER’S EDUCATION

“Live as if you were to die tomorrow

Learn as if you were to live forever.”

Education is not the filling of a pot but the lighting of a fire.

➢ Many challenges are there in present education system in India like quality
education, lack of funds, family interference, online education etc.,

I want to say on the sub topic ROLE OF NEP 2020 in teacher’s education.
According to NEP 2020 approved recently, by 2030 the minimum educational
qualification for teachers would be changed to a four-year integrated B.ED
degree. Teacher who has already been hired will be expected to participate in at
least 50 hours of continuous professional development (CPD) every year. This
course is now only designed for those students who choose to teach as a
profession after clearing school. Now only good teachers will be recruited in
schools.
Secondary Education Commission (1952-53) well said that character education is
the responsibility of all teachers.
Conclusion:- Now we can hope that in future this change can replace the distance
between the student of private and government sectors.

• ROLE OF NEP 2020 IN TEACHER’S EDUCATION

“Live as if you were to die tomorrow

Learn as if you were to live forever.”

Education is not the filling of a pot but the lighting of a fire.

Many challenges are there in present education system in India like quality
education, lack of funds, family interference, online education etc.,

❖ Challenges of present education system in India

➢ Indian education is being decided into two parts

private and government education, the ratio is 5:7
respectively. Up to now a govt. education has failed
to give a good quality education. This is because of
the lack of teachers and no proper check on them,
particularly in rural area. Public schools have weak
infrastructure and poor academic attention which is
very terrible for the overall development of an
individual. Better facilities must be given to students
in academic, sports, cultural, technical, media, arts,
music, religious, social and political areas which
would aid them to discover their areas of interest,
where as, the private schools which give all such
facilities are too expensive for the lower as well as
middle class families. Above 37% of the Indian
population is living below the poverty line and they
cannot afford education for their children at a
primary level.

❖ Major issues of Indian education are:-

1. Lack of Money
2. Costly higher education
3. Neglect of Indian languages
4. No practical knowledge
5. The problem of brain drain
6. Caste reservation and paid seat
7. Mass illiteracy
8. Wastage of resources
9. General education structure
10. Problems of Primary education
11. Outdated syllabus
12. High dropout rates
13. Poor governance and lack of responsibility
14. Lack of infrastructure
15. Quality of teachers
16. Closure of schools
17. Corruption and leakages of funds etc.,

Secondary Education Commission (1952-53) well said that

➢ The national education policy recognize and identifies

teachers and faculty as the heart of the learning process.
NEP 2020 recognises that teachers will require training in
high-quality content as well as pedagogy. By 2030
teacher’s education will gradually be moved into multi-
disciplinary colleges and universities. The minimum degree
qualification for our teachers will be a 4 Year integrated
B.ed degree that teaches a range of knowledge content
and pedagogy.
➢ This degree will help the teacher’s in practicing their
teachings in local schools.

➢ Those teachers who already have Bachelor’s Degree will

have to do 2-years B.ed course only.

➢ Those students who have Bachelor’s Degree and also

Master’s degree will offered 1 year B.ed course only.

• Teachers will have to give to more focus on pedagogy,

because it will help teachers to find the most effective
teaching method for the students in their classrooms.
Teachers will also focus on socio-emotional learning- a
critical aspect of any student holistic development.

• Teachers will be given continuous opportunities for self-

improvement and to learn the latest innovations and
advances in their professions.

• As Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji has said,

“we remain grateful to the hardworking teachers for their

contributions towards shaping minds and building our nation”.
This beautiful lines of Prime Minister motivates us.
➢ Teachers truly shape the future of our children and the
future of our nation thereby implying that teachers play
the most important role in nation-building by crating high
quality of human resource in their classrooms.

➢ I want to say line’s for my friend’s

“ You’re braver, than you believe, stronger than you seem, and
smarter than you think.”
So come my friends let together change the education system
and make it a better place.
Nothing is impossible,,,
The word impossible itself says “I am Possible.’

Conclusion:- Now we can hope that in future this change can

replace the distance between the students of private and
government sectors.
