DISTRICT BRIEF OVERVIEW
The district is 104KM South of Mongu district and covers a land surface of about 13 ,158 Square
kilometers. This vastness in size of the district poses serious challenges in the delivery of
service.
The district boarders Sesheke in the South, Shangombo in the South-West, Kalabo in the North-
West and Kaoma on the North-East. It has 129 schools comprising 88 basic schools, 3 high
schools, 34 community schools and 4 IRI centres.
The district has a total enrolment of 35,635 as follows: Girls: 17,725 and Boys 17,910.
