Removal Procedure
Start:

a. Release the system pressure. See Disassembly and Assembly, "System Pressure - Release" in this
manual.

Note: The removal procedure is similar for both pilot valves. The following procedure is used to remove the
left pilot valve.

NOTICE
Take all necessary steps to ensure that fluids are properly kept in their
compartments during product inspection, maintenance, testing,
adjustment, and repair procedures. Be prepared to collect fluids in
suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling
any components containing fluids.

Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Reseller Service Tool

Catalog" for the proper tools and supplies to collect and contain fluids
in Cat products.

Dispose of all fluids in accordance with local regulations and laws.

At the operating temperature, the hydraulic oil is hot and under

pressure. Warm oils can cause burns.

To avoid the possibility of injury, release the pressure in the working

tool hydraulic circuit (boom, boom, bucket and swivel), travel circuits
and the hydraulic oil tank in the filler cap before disconnecting or
removing any piping or Hydraulic components.
