compare the workplace in the 20th
century & 21st century
1.1 TYPES OF WORK

In the 20th century: children have to work


hard to support their families such as: selling
newspapers; go wash dishes for hire ;
working in the mines etc
• In the 21st century: children do not have
to work as hard as before to feed their
families, but are educated to become
talented people, but the work is much
different now than in the past: Oral and
maxillofacial surgeon; Doctor and
anatomists; Marketing managers etc
1.2 SKILLS REQUIRED
It can be seen that there have been many changes between the skills
an employee needs in the 20th century and the 21st century, including:

⬩ Very important teamwork skills


⬩ Must have office computer skills
⬩ Must have presentation skills
⬩ Need to learn foreign languages well
necessary for work
⬩ Need to master basic computer skills such
as Word, Excel, Powerpoint, email, drive,....

PROVES: “THE FUTURE WORKPLACE WOULD BE REALLY
DIFFERENT FROM TODAY

• By 2020, 65% of all jobs will require at least some college degree. Today,
approximately 12.5 million students are enrolled in at least one core educati
• At the University of California, Berkeley, students can design their own
courses. This allows them to research new technology such as artificial
intelligence. That way, they will not only be prepared for whatever the job
market
• Other colleges are trying to make classrooms more like offices. Some
colleges have encouraged the use of their products in the classroom. That
helps students be creative and dynamic, adapting to new things..They will
be the ones shaping it.on course.
