EXPRESS OPINIONS
1. Do you think it is possible to teach all subjects as MOOCs, or are
there some subjects that must be taught face to face in a
classroom or with a smaller enrollment? Explain
Virtual classes should not be for all subjects because studying online
is not as easy as it seems. There are courses that must be face-to-
face, such as health careers or that need face-to-face practice. One
way is to take theory classes online because it would be a problem if
you take them in person. So, the best would be only in certain careers
that are not required to be face-to-face.

2. Do you think distance learning is the future of education? Do you

think we will still have classrooms as we know them in 50 or 100
years?
Distance learning class is part of our present, but it has aspects to
improve. It maybe that in the future there will be a greater command of
the subject and that depends a lot on the now. If we analyze the
situation and how virtual classes are given in the country, we can
realize that if this had been discussed in advance it would have been
different. Now, with the pandemic is the crucial time to realize what
improvements need to be made

SYNTHESIZE
From Tommy to professor Duneier: "Margie and I hate learning at home
without other students. We don't understand why your students would choose to
take online courses. Wouldn't they have more fun and friends in a school? Also,
wouldn't they learn more?”
My dear Tommy, first I want to tell you that learning depends on each person
because no matter how difficult it becomes a person always seeks to learn
more. Besides, this possibility of virtual learning helps people who are abroad; it
is also a lot of fun because you can learn a lot from your classmates, learn more
about their cultures, native languages and you can even form incredible
friendships with foreign people. Doing an online course means giving yourself a
chance and opening the door to the world, but as long as you can have a
course that you love and are passionate about. Just like in a school, you can
discuss a topic, give your point of view, participate and interact with others.

2.REPORTER: This is the first MOOC that you were involved in. What were
your expectations before you took the course, and how did it turn out to be
different from what you expected?
MOOC STUDENT: My expectations have been variable. The new modality
must be assumed, in addition to addressing the issue as well; you have to know
that you can have disappointments, but it is part of this.
3. REPORTER: Were you able to feel a connection to your
classmates and teacher, or did you feel isolated?

because we had to collaborate through a screen. Even though, we had some
issues, we also had the opportunity to know the diversity that people from other
countries have, which significantly changed my opinion really about MOOC.
4. REPORTER: This was the first MOOC that you have taught. How do you
think it went, and will you do differently un the next MOOC you teach?
PROFESSOR DUNEIER: I think it was a great experience overall, I was able to
analyze a different sector that we can use to teach other people, not only the
ones that are near us if not other people that need my help. Subsequent to that,
I would recommend to every student to try this new methodology. You won’t
regret this.
5. REPORTER: What do you think about the schools of the twenty-first century
compared to your school?
TOMMY: I think that everything has changed significantly, back in those days,
people used to collaborate with their classmates and teachers, a way different
for nowadays. Maybe people were enhanced to get back to that way of
education might create some disputes that are too bad. I would love to learn in
that way
