GLOSSARY OF TERMS

BIG DATA
is a term used to refer to datasets that are too
large and complex for traditional data-
processing application software to deal with
adequately.
BLOCKCHAIN
was first conceived with the introduction of
Bitcoin, a digital currency and decentralized
payment system that runs without the
assistance of a central bank. It is a combination
of newly developed technologies that
incorporates databases, cryptography, hashing,
peer-to-peer networks, and smart contracts.
CLOUD COMPUTING
is the provision of computing resources on
demand, including database and application
services as well as storage and computation.
Large data centers, sometimes known as "the
cloud," house these platforms, programs, and
databases.
CYBER RESILIENCE
IOrganizations must make a substantial
investment in cybersecurity and intend to
develop a strategy to simplify cybersecurity
operations and compliance in order to increase
cyber resilience. t can also characterized as a
system's or organization's capacity to create
and implement a long-term plan to survive
cyber disasters.
DEPARTMENT OF INFORMATION AND
E-GOVERNANCE
Is the application of information technology to
improve the standard of services provided by
governments to residents and enterprises. It is
intended that this would strengthen the bond
between public servants and the communities
they serve, resulting in a democracy that is
more robust, accountable, and inclusive.
HUMAN CAPITAL
The people who use the apps, services,
information, and data made available by the ICT
ecosystem's participants have certain talents
and skills.
INFOSTRUCTURE/INFRASTRUCTURE
These are the logical and physical parts that
work together to establish a secure connection
between users, their devices, and the platform
they are visiting.

examines the use of digital tools for civic
engagement, legal restrictions on content,
technical website filtering and blocking, self-
censorship, the vibrancy and diversity of online
news media, and technological filtering and
blocking of websites.

These are the solutions (or pieces of a solution)
that users of the ecosystem can access to help
our society evolve in an equitable, inclusive,
and sustainable way and perhaps even improve
their quality of life.
SMART CITIES
ICT is used in smart cities to improve
sustainability, live-ability, and workability. With
the use of technology, a smart city improves
the welfare and well-being of its residents by
promoting and facilitating involvement in both
physical and virtual environments.
