Nirma University is one of the top-ranking universities in India.

Institute of Commerce established


in 2016 currently offers B. Com (Hons) Programme, with a focus on the two domains of Accounting
and BFSI. Keeping up our tradition of blending classroom learning with the practice, our curriculum
has a provision for a Corporate Internship of one month at the end of the second year. The
corporate internship aims to inculcate professionalism and practical skills among the students.

1. OBJECTIVE:
2. A practice-oriented and ‘hands-on’ working experience in the corporate world or industry, and
to enhance the students learning experience.
3. An opportunity to develop the right work attitude, self-confidence, interpersonal skills, and
ability to work as a team in a real organisational setting.
4. An opportunity to further develop and enhance operational, customer service, and other life-
long knowledge and skills in a real-world work environment.
5. Pre-employment training opportunities and an opportunity for the company/firm or
organisation to assess the performance of the student in the real work setting.

2. IMPORTANT GUIDELINES FOR CORPORATE INTERNSHIP– 2022


The following guidelines are applicable for the summer corporate internship:
 Each student is required to intern with any manufacturing or professional firm (as per the
threshold guideline circulated) of his/her choice in the domains of Banking, Insurance,
Finance, Stock market, Accounting, Tax, Auditing, Merchant banking, Consultancy,
or any allied field related to commerce.
 The student shall intern for a minimum of 4 weeks and a maximum of 6 weeks.
 The student shall be required to submit the following as a part of Summer Internship
documentation:
o Joining Letter (on company letterhead duly authorized) latest by June 15,
2022.
o Experience Certificate (on company letterhead duly authorized) latest by July
25, 2022.
o Summer Internship Report (As per guidelines in Para 3 and pages 4 to 5)
latest by July 25, 2022.
 This year, the student should give a title to their summer internship report in
consultation with the allotted faculty supervisor for the Corporate Internship.
 Each student will also submit the progress report of work to the faculty supervisor at
specified time intervals.
 Each student will have to submit a soft as well as print copy of the report to the
respective faculty supervisor.

3. Internship Report (6000 to 7000 words)
The internship report will follow the format as described:
o Title Page
o Faculty Supervisor Certificate
o Internship Experience Certificate (Photocopy)
o Acknowledgment
o Executive summary/Abstract (2 pages): A paragraph each on:
 The company/ Industry
 The problem or opportunity
 Aims and objectives
 Key parts of the report & your findings and solutions provided in the report.
 Benefits to the company and your own learning.
o Table of Contents – List the contents of the internship report and where they
can be found in the report.
o Introduction (3 to 5 pages)
The introduction should include a description of the Company, an
Identification of the problem, and the Scope of the work.
o Internship Discussion (15 to 20 pages) - This section contains a
discussion of the internship and should address the following points:
 How were the objectives achieved?
 What skills (scientific and professional) were learned during the
internship?
 Results/observations/work experiences gained through the internship
company.
 What challenges did you experience during the internship?
o Conclusion (1 to 2 pages)
o References

 FORMATTING REQUIREMENTS FOR REPORT:


o Font – Times New Roman
o Font size - Main heading - 14; Subheadings – 12 Bold, Running text -12
o Line spacing – 1.15
o Text must have justified alignment
o Margins 1.5” left and 1” on all other sides.

4. Assessment: The evaluation, marks, and results-

The following criteria will be used for the evaluation of the internship:
