Essay: Do you agree that HyFlex learning is the direction of the “better normal? (Max 100

words)

“Change is the only thing that does not change”, this overused line somehow reminds me the

numerous changes brought by the Covid-19 pandemic especially in the education system. The

DepEd central office have come up with initiatives like offering different Alternative Delivery

Modalities (ADMs) just to continue delivering quality education without compromising the

learning of our dear learners.

Another idea in the new norm of education nowadays is the HyFlex learning. It is the Fifth shift

of Alternative Delivery Modality (ADM) which viewed as the new learning direction of the

better normal. It combines both face to face and online teaching into one cohesive experience.

All students in a hybrid course format are expected to undergo the same combination online and

in-person activities.

I could say that HyFlex learning is the direction of the “better normal” in the perspective that it

caters the timely needs of the learners. From the word HyFlex or hybrid flexible, it obviously

offers an instructional approach according to the students choice in how they participate in the

course in the mode that works best for them over the course and from session to session.
