BEFORE THE SCRIPT WRITING

- Fill up the control sheet, input all the details, failure to do will induce automatic
disqualification
- One person will fill out the sheet (Yung may malinis na penmanship)
- Station id
- Instead of writing school, write division (Davao city)
- Okay lang mag news presenter ang anchor, pero hindi magiging same ang score nila
- Kung ano yung role mo dito na may pinakamababa na score, yun ang prevailing one
(for anchor and other roles)

NOTE
- In infomercial, it's okay to use news presenter and anchors for VO
- Are we allowed to use other language? Apply the rule of 70-30, 70% should consist
main language, 30% other language
- No cellular phones sa actual competition
- Use of cellular phones will induce automatic disqualifictaion
- Pwede mag news presenter ang anchor, wag lang siya mag news present sa isang
spot na may spot na ng ibang news presenter, kung magbabalita siya, it should be the
most prominent news na ibabalita
- it doesn't necessarily follow that the news articles or fact sheet will all come
from the press conference
- for secondary, 2 news article will come from press con, and 3 or 4 from fact sheet
- during your press conference, you are allowed to use your cellular phones for the
purpose of recording the information during press con, however, after press con and
during script writing, cellular phones are not allowed
- assign certain people who will record at intervals who will record the press conference
and take turns in transferring the file to the laptop (laptop is allowed but cellphones are
not, that’s why to transcribe the info, we need to transfer it sa laptop first)
- We might be tasked to create either a Bumper News or Banter News Story
? Bumper news - delivers breaking news (will be introduced at the beginning or at the
end)
? banter news story - can be introduced in the middle of the broadcast
- It’s important to listen to the press conference attentively because some of the news
will come here

DURING SCRIPT WRITING

- Allowed to include the title page - indicate station ID and program ID and name of
team members
- Make sure the names in the title page are the same with the control sheet you passed
- Make sure the control sheet has all correct details because incorrect information will
be grounds for misinterpretation of scores
- Highly prohibit: Do not mention your respective point of origin (valid round for
automatic disqualification)
- If the script writing starts at exactly 1:00 pm, expected by 2:30 done with encoding ,
the rest of the 30 mins will be allotted for printing
- Deductions will be made if late
- 5 mins extension will be given if you have not yet passed by 3:00 pm, beyond 3:05 pm
will have deductions
- Any changes to script done after you already passed the script will be valid grounds for
disqualification
- Do not attempt to retrofit your script (automatic disqualification)
- Bond paper size: A4
- Margin: 1 inch for all sides
- Font: Century gothic or arial, font size: 11
- There will be an assigned person to ask questions: discuss how will we ask questions
- Maximum of 3 laptops

FOR INFOMERCIAL
- review on present issues prevalent today (environment, economy, education, reforms,
and many more)
- simply a commercial but wishes to inform the audience of information that the
audience does not know yet

DURING SIMULATION
- Dalawang channel
- The signal will be transmitted to 2 Fm studios
- The audio outputs will be the one judged

NOTE
- Top 7 anchors
- Top 7 news presenters
- Top 3 NP and anchors will move to the nationals

CRITERIA
1) Anchorage - 20%
- Further divided into performance of news presenters and anchors (10%
and 10%)

2) Script - 30%

- Observe the 3 paragraphs format

- Take note: The danger of presscon conference is this, during the
presscon, the coaches are also there.
