I. Objectives
At the end of 60 – minutes discussion, students should be able to:
a. Determine what is part of speech (noun) and their kinds and
b. Construct a sentence with kinds of Noun; and
c. Express their thoughts about noun and the kinds of noun
II. Subject Matter
Topic: Part of Speech (Noun)
References: Silver Burdett English (page 6 to 13)
Materials: PowerPoint Presentation, Google Meet, Activity Sheets, Google Form,
Laptop, and Google Classroom
Values Integration: Knowing Nouns and apply it on their everyday lives
III. Procedures
A. Daily Routines
• Greetings

B. Review
1. What was our topic yesterday?
2. Can someone explain what is Subject and Predicate?
3. Give me some examples of subject and predicate
C. Motivation
The teacher will present a sentence with the use of power point presentation in the
class. Next the teacher will ask random students to determine which word they see as
an example of noun.
The teacher will need 4 students to determine or explain what they see on the power
point presentation.

D. Lesson Proper
The teacher will present ppt about noun and their kinds. The teacher will ask random
students to read what is noun and their kinds which is common noun, proper noun and
collective noun. For every term, the teacher will ask again the students to give example
of noun and example of kinds of noun.
Every person, place, and things have a name. The words doctor, store, and pencil, for
example, are names. Something that cannot be seen. Heard, or touched, such as hope,
also has a name. all these names are nouns.
Most nouns have a singular and plural form. A word that refers to one is singular. A
word that refers to more than one is plural. Some nouns, such as peter pan or New
Mexico, are more than one word.
Kinds of nouns
A common noun is the general name of a person, place, or thing.
A proper noun names a person, place, or thing.
Nouns can be divided into two groups, common noun and proper noun. The word state
is a common noun. It is the general name for many places. The word Texas is a proper
noun. It is the name of a particular state in the united states. A proper noun begins with
a capital letter. When a proper noun is made up of two or more words, such as the title
of a book, only the important words begin with capital letters.
A collective noun is the general name of persons, animals, or things. The collective
noun committee names a group of people. Herd and fleet are collective nouns that refer
to animals and things.
E. Application
Guess the picture. The teacher will divide the class into four groups with five members
each group to guess the picture via gmeet.

Directions: All students will join on their google meet and after that the teacher will
present a picture then the students will determine what kind of nouns showed in the
picture. If person, place, ideas, and things.

F. Generalization
The teacher will ask the following questions:
1. Give an example of noun (persons, places, things, ideas)
2. What are the kinds of noun?
3. Give sentence with common noun, proper noun, and collective noun

B. Determine if the words are Common Noun or Proper Noun. Then choose the best
answer.

C. Write the Collective Noun in each sentence.

2. A swarm of bees is flying into that window. (answer: A swarm of bees)
3. Our family went on a picnic. (answer: family)
4. The crowd shouted angrily at the umpire. (answer: crowd)
V. Assignment
Search 10 examples of Noun, Common Noun, Proper Noun and Collective Noun. Then
use it into sentence. You may write, submit a word, pdf or jpeg. And pass in our
respective GCR.
