Moral standards refer to the norms people have about what they consider to be morally

correct and wrong activities, as well as the values they place on what they consider to be
morally good and terrible objects. Non-moral norms are regulations that are not based on
moral or ethical principles.
A moral standard is a set of guidelines that we use to determine which activities are
ethically acceptable and which are morally inappropriate. Moral standards specifically address
issues that have the potential to substantially damage or benefit humans. Moral standards
include: not to harm others, state the truth, be particularly cautious and do to others,
acknowledge others' possessions, and treat individuals and those in need or in despair as we
would want to be treated if we were in their circumstances. Principles are those that can
be established for oneself. It all comes down to how one define rightness and wrongness, and
therefore what is ethically right and wrong. To be realistic, these standards can change over
time. For instance, one can choose whether or not to support everyone else in your values, and
whether or not it is right or wrong. Apparently, this is a positive thing, but we don't always live
up to our standards, and this is what lowers them. Religion can also be a factor in assisting
people in developing a sense of what is good and what is wrong. On the other hand, non-moral
standards are guidelines that are not based on moral or ethical principles. These norms are
either unrelated to morality or, by definition, lack ethical sense, activities, including several
community standards. Non-moral standards include; etiquette standards, which ultimately
decide whether a person's manners are good or bad; legal standards, which determine whether
something is legal or illegal; and aesthetic standards, which determine whether art is beneficial
or harmful.
It is utterly important in any scenarios to learn to distinguish moral and non-moral
standards. The ability to recognize the underlying principles in motion in an ethical
disagreement can be a strong tool for resolving the issues. We should also be conscious of the
ethical usage of the word value as an action. Whatever we choose to appreciate more or less
will definitely play an enormous influence in the process of separating outcomes from actions
and selecting what we should do.
In conclusion, gathering more information about the two standards and willingly
understanding them may help us solve future issues and disagreements. It may also help us get
to know and recognize people more including their beliefs and values in life.
