About dr. Dalton Ngangi:


A very not so serious doctor, love all kinds of knowledges especially a passion for life
philosophy. Loves to think outside the box and explore the unknown. Have numerous
experiences doing odd jobs before, also have various startup companies and consider
medicine to be a hobby worth sharing through his youtube channel Dokteroncall.

About dr. Farhan Zubaidi:


A general practitioner who is also involved in art fields such as literacy and music. Has been
singing since he was 3 years old and writing since he was in junior high school. To him,
medical field is more than just treating patients. It’s also about sharing knowledge to public,
about creating a better system of healthcare and also not to forget, about having fun in
learning it.

Title: Doctor on call

Characters: 4-6 people

- (Doctor X) Main Character: A young woman doctor mid 20s, smart, kind, ignorant, whiney,
cynical, hard-headed, laid-back, has a strong life principle.

Supporting characters: 5 people


- (Doctor A) 1 Male actor handsome, mid 30s playing as a specialist/ senior doctor, cool guy,
cruel, mean, not much of a talker, straight-forward, perfectionist, but deep down has a feeling
for the main character.

- (Nurse A) 1 Female actor playing as a nurse mid 20s, cute, caring, kind and has a feeling for
Doctor A.
- (Doctor B) 1 Female actor playing as a doctor mid 20s Doctor x/ leading character's
bestfriend, very supportive, funny, willing to sacrifice for her bestfriend, hates Doctor A.
- (Doctor C) 1 Male doctor playing as a male doctor mid 20s, a very shy guy, mysterious,
awkward in every way, can't speak out well especially in front of public, funny, has a famous
dad who's a well-known surgeon from another hospital, deep down he's stressed to live up to
his dad's expectation to be better.
- (Doctor D) 1 Male actor mid 40s-50s playing as a director of the hospital in the story, wise-
guy, funny, smart in giving solution to people's problem, very practical, very forgiving, very
philosophical in giving advice especially to the main character because she reminds him of
his own daughter that has died, a father figure to everyone in the hospital.

Where: Hospital setting (mainly)

When: Once a Month (tentative)

Tone color: White mostly, clean, clear, vibrant, romantic.

Camera angle: Mostly tagging along in front of the characters while they are talking or
walking around or outside the hospital. Shows every detail of a busy emergency department,
capture the essence of hospital life just like in real life,

Audience target: Young millennial doctors, doctor wannabes, high-schoolers, medicine peers.

3. Our Uniqueness:
• In every beginning and ending of the episode there's going to be a narration delivered by
the main character voiceover and at the end of each episode the main character will share
her life-lesson or moral of the story.
• Every medical jargons, procedures and techniques are real or close to the real life. We
want this story to also be educative and yet entertaining.
• A few of the scenes include emergency department, hallway, operating room, patients bed
chamber, inside the house, inside the car, inside a cafe/ bar.
• Scenes in every episode must include the following: romantic scene, arguing scene, funny
scene, crying scene.
• Atmosphere setting around the hospital is serious, professional but also relax.

Pilot Prologue:
intro first scene:

They say that Life is very simple..you live you die..even your heart only makes two sounds
Lub..Dub..whatever complicated things in the middle is purely because of our own
making..Being a doctor means you are the sole conductor of the complicated things within
every person's life..and that really sucks! Because you do have your own problems too..Well,
this is the story of everything you didn’t know about being a doctor..

outro first scene:

Comparing to other jobs, being a doctor meant something in the development of our identity.
Regarding of our advantages or weaknesses, there are always patients you can help, patients
who don't need help & patients who don't want any help..and dealing with this actually
shapes who you are as a person. Our job is a privilege, sometimes we forget how cool it is..

There will be one scene where she has a deaf patient, Ana, that has been treated with
chemotherapy due to her mastoid cancer. A day before Ana’s dismissal from the hospital, her
friends from the deaf society come to see her and cheer her up as it will be her last day in the
hospital before she goes back to the (yayasan). They communicate with sign language.
Seeing that scenery, doctor X (the main character) feels so warm. Unfortunately, the day
after, she finds out that Anna has passed away due to her illness, despite the chemotherapy. It
breaks her heart so much that it is her first time crying in silence for a patient.

DOCTOR ON CALL
A Synopsis

"How deeply you touch another life is the difference between being dead or alive"

The Main storyline:


A young vibrant female doctor (Doctor X) who's got everything worked out fine turns
rebellious, lazy, and doesn't really care about her carrier anymore ever since the death of her
parents in a tragic accident. She felt like being a doctor is useless when she can't even save
her own parents.

Her rebellious spirit often gets her into a lot of problems in and out of the hospital.
The hospital director is the only one that she still respects because she considers him as a
father figure that she misses.

She has her life messed up Until one day she has a revelation/ epiphany when she got
diagnosed with a terminal cancer, although she has to live the rest of her life weaker everyday
yet she becomes happier and find deep meaning in helping her patients get through their
problems.

She then explores her life, her patients, her friends, her symptoms, how she felt about dealing
the fact that she only gets a year to live and how she overcame her depression to finally
accept every little things in life being grateful and happy. Finally she is able to find meaning
in her life and she changes to be a very empathic doctor giving hope to her patients and
becomes an example to everyone in the hospital.

Through her everyday challenges she meets new patients, make new friends, getting along
better with her coworkers, building romantic relationship and finding out more about herself.

At the end of the story Doctor X is able to give hope and save a patient's life, a young kid
who's also diagnosed with a benign curable cancer just before she passed away. That kid 10
years later will become a doctor himself and the cycle of life continues. Becoming a doctor is
a personal calling, doctor on call.
