methods used in the classroom.

My Tools

As you visit schools and observe assessment practices in at least three classes, document your
observations using the activity forms provided for you in this reference. For your pen-and-paper test
items, customize a table of specification, and prepare the test material based on the prescriptions of the
school where you do class observation.

Test (Short Quiz)

Observational -The teacher presented some images and videos which is relevant to the topic. The

they have understood about the images and videos presented

-The teacher asked certain questions regarding their previous and current lesson.
-It is a type of learning where the students participate in performing tasks or
Performance- activities that are meaningful and engaging.
based -The students were asked to present videos in a form of a vlog, short drama, or
advertisement which showed the types of market going through the economy. They
were able to showcase a Perfect Competition, Monopoly, Oligopoly and
Monopolistic types of market. The teacher used a rubric in grading the said
performances.

Oral Questioning The teacher encourages her students to recite to improve their
communication skills and to gain self confidence.

Observational Strategy It was executed effectively by the teacher. The teacher was able to gauge
the knowledge of the students and up to what extent in the lesson they
have understood it.

Alternative Types:

Performance-Based The students were given the freedom to choose strategies on how they
would deliver the thought of the topics they needed to present. It provided
opportunities for the students to make use of their knowledge with the use
of modern technology making it a vital tool to properly express their
understanding of the lesson.
Analysis

1. Was there a variety of assessment methods used by the teacher? How relevant was/were the
assessment method/s used?

Yes there were varieties of assessment methods used by the teachers in testing the students’
knowledge and ability. The students were trained by giving them the chance to learn by themselves and
with the help of others. The teacher gave the students quizzes, tasks and perfomances to assess their
understanding and to know what adjustments are necessary to improve learning.

2. Do you think the expected students’ learning behaviours indicated in the objectives were
properly and appropriately assessed through those assessment methods?

I think that the expected student’s learning behaviours indicate in the objectives were properly and
appropriately assessed through those assessment methods that the assessment methods, like in the oral
recitation, students participated and answered the questions of the teacher. They were exposed to
different ideas and opinions of others. The students were able to cope up with the assessment method
effectively and intelligently.

My Reflections

The use of appropriate assessment method is very important for teachers to determine if the
lesson they have presented is pedagogically transferred to their learners. It plays a vital role for the
measuresement of the effectivity of the teaching strategy. It gives the teacher the adjustment needed to
improve his/her skills and strategies in teaching learners. A teacher should make rubrics and criteria in
judging the learners since every learner is unique.
