SOFT LANDSCAPING
INDEX
GENERAL
This specificatins to be read in conjunction with Latest edition of the BS and, equivalent
'Indonesia Government Specifications and Codes of Practice' .
The agricultural soil shall have the composition and structure of a friable sandy loam. The
soil shall be free of roots, large stones (greater than 25 mm), weeds and rubbish.
Furthermore there shall be no evidence of insects or plant disease organisms.
- Salinity as measured by the saturation extraction method should not exceed 2.0
millimhos per cm.
- The sodium absorption ration (SAR) shall not be greater than 5.0.
- The pH value shall not be greater than 8.0.
- The boron concentration in saturation extract shall not exceed 1.0 ppm the silt plus clay
content shall not be exceed 16% by weight.
- The permeability rate shall not be less than 13 mm per hour, when tested in accordance
with the approved methods.
- A minimum of 95% shall pass a 2.0 mm round hole sieve
1.2 SAND
Sand shall be clean dune sand, particle size 0.06-0.6 mm, and shall comply with the above
standard requirements for topsoil.
1.3 PEAT
Peat shall be of a quality acceptable for use as a soil amendment and shall have a pH range
from 3.7 to 5.5
Trees bark (shredded and nitrogen stabilized) Shall have a consistent composition, be
moderately acidic and have substantial nitrogen content and low salinity. It shall be free of
roots, clods and stones. It shall not be infested with nematodes or other plant diseases and
insects.
2. FERTILIZERS
- Slow release tablet fertilizer, tightly compressed, long lasting (two year continues) with
guaranteed analysis of (20-10-5) weighting 21 grams as manufactured by Sierra
Chemical, Milpitas, California or equal and approved. Fertilizer to be mixed in to
manufacturers instructions.

The contractor shall submit plants for the engineer’s selection from the best types and
qualities of garden’s plants in Jakarta and according to the specialist subcontractor in the
field of landscapes, who will advise and be resposbible about preapring the good condition
for each plant to grow perfectly considering the thickness and depth for each dig the amount
of water for each plant the amount of sunlight needed for each and taking in mined the
weather and environment in Jakarta.
The number of trees, palms & shrubs will be refer to the drawings considering for the shurbs
the standard number of plants each meter long.
