1.2.6 Temperature range of the algorithms

The algorithms can be used in a temperature range of -25 ... +70 °C.

1.2.7 Temperature range

The temperature range is: -25 °c  t  +70 °c;
the temperature range has to be within the working range of the used algorithm for
correcting the deviation from the ideal gas law. See also paragraph 1.2.6.

1.2.8 Presentation of legal data

Legal data is presented on a default menu. This window shows volume at measured
conditions and base volume with the number of decimals that has been programmed.
Also measured gas temperature, measured gas pressure, the calculated compressibility factor
Z and the volume conversion factor C can be presented on selectable windows.
All legal data including parameters can also be presented on a number of windows that can
be reached pressing the keys on the front panel.
The menu structure, keyboard, display and (alarm) indicators are described in the user
manual. A user manual must always be available at the location of the MICRO-Z.

1.2.9 Accountable alarms

The EVCD has to be programmed such, that accountable alarms will be generated if extreme
values are measured by the EVCD or if otherwise a defect arises. Accountable alarms cause
that the registration of the volume at base conditions will be stopped.
During the alarm, the volume at measurement conditions will (besides the main totalizer)
also be registered in the alarm totalizer.

The alarm indication can be reset by using the keyboard or the configuration software.
However, it is not possible to clear an alarm as long as the cause of the alarm is still present.
1.3 Essential shapes

1.3.1 Markings
The nameplate is bearing at least, good legible, the following information:
- CE marking including the supplementary metrological marking (M + last 2 digits of the year
in which the instrument has been put into use);
- Notified Body identification number, following the supplementary metrological marking;
- EU-type examination certificate no. T11476;
- manufacturer's name, registered trade name or registered trade mark;
- manufacturer's postal address;
- serial number of the meter and year of manufacture;
- ambient temperature range.

The following information is presented on the nameplate or on the display:

- the gas temperature range;
- the gas pressure range;
- the base pressure;
- the base temperature;
- the compression algorithm.

The following information is presented on the display and/or on the transducer nameplate:
- upper and lower limits of the transducers.

The following information is presented in the chapter Technical Specifications of the user
manual:
- mechanical environment class;
- electromagnetic environment class.
An example of the marking plate is shown in documentation 11476/1-01.
1.3.1 EMI protection measures
Temperature sensor connection cables must be shielded.
External DC power input must be connected via an Ex-interface.

1.3.2 Sealing: see chapter 2.

1.4 Conditional parts

1.4.1 Housing
The instrument has a polycarbonate housing, which has sufficient tensile strength. For an
example of the housing, see page 1 of this description.
Metrological important parts only are accessible after breaking one or more seals or after
using correct passwords. The battery is accessible after breaking a utility seal.

1.4.2 Meter error curve correction

Meter error curve correction can be applied. The correction is performed by applying a
correction factor K to the HF pulse output. The K parameter specifies the number of pulses
per m3 provide by the meter.

1.4.3 Power supply

1.4.3.1 Battery power supply
The instrument may be powered by LiSoCl2 or LiMnO2 batteries.
Lifetime is at least 5 years under the specified operating conditions (See User's Manual). A
low battery alarm may be generated when the remaining battery gauge becomes less than
the user specified level between 10% and 50%.

1.4.3.2 External power supply

The instrument also can be supplied by a properly rated (3,7 ... 5,5 Vdc), external power
supply.

1.4.4 Communication interfaces

The on-board RS232 and RS485 interfaces may be omitted depending on the product model.
Via the communication interfaces, no legally relevant data can be altered without breaking
a verification seal.

1.4.5 Multi stream (optional)

The EVCD may be constructed such that up to 3 streams are handled.

1.4.6 Conditional outputs

Pluggable boards can be used for extended communication functionalities.
These boards provide communication via GPRS, RS485 or RS232 interfaces. Information is
presented in the documentation 11476/0-08, 11476/0-09, 11476/0-10, 11476/0-11,
11476/0-12 and 11476/0-13.

Digital inputs (Dl1-Dl8)
Analog inputs (AI1-AI3)

1.5 Conditional characteristics

1.5.1 Impulse inputs of gas meters
The instrument has a dual function LF/HF impulse input. In the LF mode, the maximum
frequency is 4 Hz, if the gas meter is running at Qmax. The minimum pulse width is 200
msec.
HF mode supports impulse input with a maximum frequency of 5 kHz and a minimum
impulse width of 0, 1 msec.
The instrument also supports two additional LF impulse inputs for stream 2 and stream 3
with the same properties of stream 1.

1.5.2 Programming of parameters

Change of metrological parameters is protected by a Weights & Measures switch, SW1, or
password.
Exceptions are the unconverted and converted (= Base) main (= overall) totalizers.
Those totalizers can be reset (or set to initial values) after initial installation and
commissioning by applying cold start, prior to sealing the device.
If the programming switch is set to the "non-protected" position, parameters declared as
protected can be changed after password identification.
If the programming switch is set to the "protected" position changing of Weights &
Measures parameters, download of legal software, resetting overall totalizers and cold start
are not possible.
Log values can be accessed with the key pad and read on the indication.

1.6 Non-essential parts

1.6.1 Alarm or pulse outputs

2 Seals
The following items are sealed:
the nameplate with the housing; *)
The battery compartment;
The pressure and temperature sensor sealed against removal;
In case the Weights & Measures protection with the switch SW-1 applies, this switch.

*) Removal without destroying the nameplate shall not be possible; otherwise the
nameplate shall be sealed to the housing.

An example of the sealing is presented in the document no. 11476/0-05.
