Academic planning for sessions 2020-21 was done during the pandemic.

On 3rd July 2020, a

meeting of HoDs of the college and teachers along with IQAC members was organised to
discuss academic planning in an unprecedented situation. The following schedule was
discussed in the meeting:

1. To hold interactive online classes, teaching and interacting with the students through
various digital media like WhatsApp and YouTube. It was also decided that video recordings
of the classes would be uploaded on YouTube, and links would be shared on the college
website. In addition to the above, PDF notes of the lesson will be available on the college
website.

2. Review regarding coverage of syllabi and the latest detailed status report about it to be
submitted by HoDs to the principal’s office.

3. To discuss strategies for starting teachings in the next session.

4. Time table for conducting interactive online classes should be uploaded on the website for
better communication with the students.

5. Modalities/mechanisms would be developed to collect and compile reports for weekly

submission to the university.

6. To ensure sanitisation and social distancing norms, some teachers would be called to come
to the College if the situation demands.

7. The following resolutions have been taken to ensure timely completion of the curriculum:-

(i) HoDs of the concerned departments will assign topics/chapters of different papers of
various courses to each teacher. HoDs will continuously monitor the progress and
devise strategies for effective teaching and coverage of the syllabi.
(ii) Before starting the teaching, the departments concerned will organise their Induction
programs for students to make them aware of the nuances, priorities and
requirements. It was decided that online classes would run in full swing until the
situation improves. Even after the situation's improvement, arrangements must be
made to run classes in dual/hybrid mode to compensate for the delay.
(iii) Along with the traditional “chalk and talk” method, each department should
encourage teachers to use ICT-enabled tools. Various methods like participative
learning, problem-solving methodologies, “hands-on learning”, etc., should be
invoked. In each department, at least one teacher would be assigned the role of
mentor to counsel the students on academic matters and other related issues.
(iv) Special care would be taken of those students who are “slow learners”. Special
tutorial classes would be run for such students. ‘Advance Learner’ should be pepped
up, encouraged, and guided to explore materials on advanced topics. As per the
demand of the students, tutorial classes may be organised by the departments.
(v) Oral tests and class tests/unit ending tests should be conducted by each department
regularly.
(vi) Each department will obtain feedback on the syllabus from the students, teachers, and
other stakeholders.

Planning for Co-curricular and Extra-curricular Activities

All members were unanimous in their views that “Co-curricular and Extracurricular
activities are an extension of formal and informal learnings. These complement and
supplement curricular activities and are essential for inculcating various facets of students'
personality development and cultural assimilation. The members outlined some of the
tentative activities like;

(i) Debate
(ii) Science, Social sciences, Humanities and General Knowledge, Current Affairs
quizzes.
(iii) Poster exhibitions on a different theme.
(iv) Relevant documentaries, projects, YouTube channels, Facebook pages, etc. would be
shared among students to propagate messages regarding important critical issues,
environmental awareness, gender sensitivity, etc.
(v) Essay writing, story writing.
(vi) Programs for the moral and spiritual development of students.
(vii) For holistic development of the students, sports infrastructure be strengthened, and
cultural activities should be intensified.
