Addressed by
Dr S C Kulshreshtha
Chairman, SRGC Consortium

Dear Colleagues,

 Hope you & your family will be hale & hearty.

 I Trust you shall be staying at home and maintaining social
distances.
 I hope you all must have been connected to Arogyasetu app.
 I believe you will be helping the needy people.
 Undoubtely, every calamity/ disaster impediments the
acceleration of growth & development but always you will find
tremendous opportunities underneath also.
 This is the case with COVID-19 also. It has paralysed the
socio-economic life of the country but it has given us an
opportunity to seek alternatives of achieving our targets.
 I salute the Corona warriors, our doctors, health & sanitary
workers and policemen who are working day & night to fight
this epidemic under the lockdown period.
 During this period of crises we teachers also have greater
responsibility as the society has given us vital responsibility
of preparing the future generations to contribute for making
our country a super power.
 But I am not happy to record and review the performances of
my collegues during lockdown period. Since the very first day
of lockdown I requested you all to please continue online
teaching and complete the course in-time.
 May I remind you the directives prescribed by the Govt and
Higher Education Authorities to us for this period:-
 Even before imposing the lockdown one day before the
Janta Curfew i.e. on dt. 21.03.2020, MHRD directed all
the educational institutions to adopt online mode of
teaching.
 After the lockdown, on dt. 27.03.2020 Govt of UP
ordered for online class and e-learning. It is directed that
e-contents shall be uploaded, online classes will be
undertaken, assignments, question banks and online
tests shall be conducted and attendance shall also be
recorded. Teachers will under take researches and
projects staying at home.
 The University vide its letter dated 28.03.2020 also has
notified that all institutions will be closed upto
14.04.2020 and all faculty members/ ministerial staff
shall be permitted to “Work from home”.
 Principal Secretary (Higher Education) vide letter dated
27.03.2020 directed the college and university staff to
conduct online classes, using various apps, preparing
and uploading of e-content, use of webinars, conduct
researches and projects.
 Refering the letter of Principal Secretary (HE) dt.
27.03.2020 and more recently, Director (HE), UP on
dated 08.04.2020 required to fill all informations on link
to appresise the Govt about the progress achieved by
teachers in “Working form Home”. The points given in
the format are:-
1. Total number of faculty uploaded their
Schedule/Time Table of online classes/Live
session on the websit
2. Total No of eContent uploaded on the website of
the institution
3. Total number of students accessed eContents
uploaded by faculty
4. Total number of Online Classes/ Interactive
Sessions/Lesson conducted
5. Average number of students attending online

 Unfortunately, very small number of teachers filled this
proforma that is too incomplete at large. It is expected
that our teachers would have prepared their lectures,
lesson plan etc. in the beginning of the session. If it
would have been so, atleast e-content would have been
loaded but nothing done so far even after the 24 days of
lockdown.
 On dated 13.04.2020, we got a letter from the University
directing us to complete the courses within the
scheduled time given in their calender so that exam may
be conducted just after the lockdown period is over.
 The UGC is also worried about the teaching work as
HRD Minister initiated a campaign “Bharat Padhe
Online” inviting ideas to boost e-learning and online
education in the country.
 More recently on dated 15.04.2020 Central Govt has
issued guidelines for lock down period. In guidelines at
point no 9, again it was reminded that teachers shall be
conducting online classes. It is also again reminded by
AICTE of its letter dated 15.04.2020.
 While watching the group whatsap and communication taken
place between our colleagues, I am shocked to notice that
not much progress has been made in online teaching. The
Whatsapp platform is full of other than teaching information
and lot of personal/ social chating is going on. May I remind
you this is an official group and nothing other than teaching
to be posted here. If the social interection and other
informations are needed tobe shared an unofficial group may
be formed.
