The teaching profession involves interaction with pupils and their families.
However, the pandemic has caused communication barriers especially with some
students from disadvantaged backgrounds who may have limited access to technology
and connections. Our school system decided to give students the option of either taking
modular learning or the traditional classes. Therefore, teachers ended up to conduct
both modular learning and traditional classes. In traditional classes, all students and
teachers have to wear a mask every day. Teachers have to do their best to keep
students maintain social distancing. In modular class, teachers need to prepare
Learning Activity Sheets to distribute for those students who are in modular learning. I
will say that this kind of set up is a great challenge for the teachers. So, when the
Department of Education announced that there will be a 2 weeks working from home for
teachers in preparation for the 2022 election, I felt happy because I don’t need to wake
up early in the morning at 4:30am to prepare myself before going to school because my
residence is quite far from the school. Though teachers were advised to work from
home, they were expected to have an output for the entire 2 weeks. For the 1 st week of
my working from home, I checked all the Learning Activity Sheets of Grade 11 Wellness
Massage subject, prepared and finalize the remaining Learning Activity Sheets for the
distribution of 4th quarter of Pagbabasa at Pagsusuri for 30 students and Wellness
Massage subject for Grade 11 Beauty Care students. Though I am working at home, I
manage to finish all of these because it is my goal to be an inspirational teacher, always
available to my students, and constantly encouraging, supporting, and challenging
them. As a teacher, I need to be equipped with positive attitude. Despite the
challenges, I always make sure to provide learning materials to students that provide
accurate information because learning must continue even during this pandemic.

In preparation for the 2022 election, Teachers were advised to work from home
for two weeks. For my 2nd week of working from home which started last May 10 to 13,
2022, the things that I worked in our home were preparing a Lesson Plan for my COT,
preparing slides/power point presentation for my COT, Checking the remaining Learning
Activity Sheets of Pagbabasa at Pagsusuri for Grade 12 Dahlia, and lastly, I was
checking the video presentation of Wellness Massage students for their performance
task that were stated in their Learning Activity Sheets. Teaching is a matter of guiding
the human growth and development. Teachers shape lives by direct instruction. They
are the first and foremost persons who bring to the classroom the attitude, ways of
thinking, and manners of speech. Though there is no face to face interaction during this
week with the students who choose the traditional learning, I manage to check their
output which is a video presentation on how to perform the type of massage by sending
the video to my messenger. I always make sure to stay connected with my students. I
even contacted them to messenger or called them if they weren’t able to send some
activity as stated in the Learning Activity Sheet.
