READING NARRATIVE
REPORT
The Daligdigan Elementary School in adherence to the DepEd’s quest for the
development of reading status of the learners amidst the pandemic, initiated and
implemented the reading program entitled “Basa-Kahibalo: Kaugmaon KO!”. This was
monitored for the class of the entire First Quarter.

From the results of the Phil IRI, a pre-test conducted by teachers, struggling
readers were then identified. Because of this, interventions were formulated including
Reading Activity to assist these struggling learners. Every morning, the teachers
allocated 40 minutes to one hour for reading sessions and reading activities to improve
the reading ability and reading comprehension among the learners per grade level.
Since the school is in full blast of face to face class, the teachers have formulated various
of strategies to cater all learners, but mostly focusing on the struggling learners.

Through this initiative, we will be able to keep tract on the reading ability of the
learners and even alleviate their reading difficulties in every quarter as monitored by
the class adviser and the School In-Charge.

The Reading Program were started at the first quarter of the school year and the
parents were grateful for the evident result among their children.
