Contribution of the Session to This session will help the School Heads to provide technical assistance, as Instructional Managers, to teachers in planning their
Program Outcomes course/lesson and devising creative means in engaging their students in class.

c. make a simple plan to advocate for the new lesson planning system in their schools

INTRODUCTION Do:
1. Greet the participants. Make sure they are
comfortable and attentive, and that they are ready
to learn. 5 minute
2. Present the objectives of the session.
At the end of the session, the participants
will be able to:
a. explain the importance of lesson planning to
teachers
b. give suggestions and comments on sample
lesson plan/log and assessment plan
c. make a simple plan to advocate for the new
lesson planning system in their schools

ACTIVITY: The Paper Tower Do:


 Group the participants into 6 groups of 10 6 Envelopes with 10 10 minutes
 Discuss the rules of the game. Sheets of Bond Paper
Say:
This game is called The Paper Tower. The aim of
this game is for the group to build the tallest free-
stranding structure that can stand on its own and is
aesthetically appealing using ONLY the 10 sheets of
bond paper given and nothing else. All groups will
need to to choose a leader and timekeeper. All groups
will be given two minutes to plan their strategy. The
Class Facilitator will give the signal that their time
plannning is over and the five minute time for building
will now start.
After the five minutes your judge (s) will move
around, evaluate the group’s output based on the

criteria given and decide on which group made the
best free structure. The decision of the Judge(s) is
final.

Note to the Facilitators:


The Facilitators should move around, observe try to
capture how the each group plan out their work and
how they execute their plan.

Do:
 Show the rating scale that will be used to
evaluate each group’s output.
Height 50%
Staying power 30%
Aesthetic Appeal 20 %
 Choose their leader and time keeper for this
game.
 Give the group two minutes to plan their
strategy.
 Distribute the envelope that contains 10
sheets of paper for each group.
 Build the tallest free-standing structure in
just five minutes.
 Evaluate groups’ outputs and recognize the
winning group.

ANALYSIS Ask them the following questions: 15 minutes


 How did you find the game? Was it
challenging?

 Let us look at how each group came up with
their masterpiece. Did everyone come into an
agreement during the planning?
 Were there members who opposed to the
plan? How did your group manage that
situation?
 What can you say about the plan your group
made? Was the time given enough? Why?
 Do you think if you’ll be given longer time to
plan, your group can make a better structure?
 What are things that made this group win?
 How crucial/important is planning in ensuring
quality outputs?

Do:
 Be sure to listen to the responses of the class
members and be able to cluster or group their
responses.
 Group their responses based on the following:

APPLICATION ACTIVITY: Do:Make a simple Advocacy Plan how the new Advocacy Plan

planning will enable everything a man does to appear
spontaneous.
