1.1 Background
The function of the family needs to be observed as a task that must be played
by the family as the smallest social institution. According to the NFCB (National
Family Planning Coordinating Board) that the family function is divided into 8. The
family function proposed by the BKKBN is in line with the family function according
to Government Regulation Number 21 of 1994 concerning the Implementation of
Prosperous Family Development, namely: (a) religious functions; (b) Socio-Cultural
Functions; (c) The function of love; (d) Protecting Function; (e) Reproductive
Function; (f) Socialization and Education Functions; (g) Economic Functions; (h)
Environmental Development Function. Unfortunately, the function of the family has
not been carried out optimally because in family education, the development and
education of children (including religion and nobility) is getting less attention and has
been completely handed over to teachers and schools. The role of parents to support
children in self-actualization in their social environment is also starting to not be
carried out as the work and activities of parents increase. The role of parents will have
a real impact on the growth and development of children. The task of parents at each
stage of child development is required to discipline, guide children, take care of
children, especially those related to psychological, physical, social and economic so
that children are able to grow up healthy, confident, cooperative and responsible. But
parents generally make the mistake of focusing too much on giving more to their
children. The role of parents will have a real impact on the growth and development
