12. Course Synopsis:
The course is designed as a Final-Year Project where it consists of two phases, i.e.
Construction of Community Project I and Construction of Community Project II. Both phases
provide students with the construction technology knowledge, skills and attitude required
while undertaking the construction of a real community project. In Construction of
Community Project II, students will apply the knowledge and skills they acquire previously in
prior courses and they need to carry out project handover upon completion. Students are
expected to get acquainted with the existing construction market which has socio-economic
impact on as well as knowledge in real work environment, material rates, material quality,
labour wages, and principles of various types of foundation. These will cultivate confidence
in students in their future undertaking.
