Prof. Dr. Manickam Ravichandran, Chairman of the Jury
Dean
Faculty of Applied Sciences, AIMST University

Prof M. Ravichandran is the Dean of Faculty of Applied Sciences, AIMST


University. He obtained his M.Sc.-Medical Microbiology from Christian Medical
College, Vellore and gained his PhD in Biotechnology degree from Anna
University, Chennai, India. Currently his research interests are genetically
engineered cholera vaccine and formulation, molecular diagnostics and phage
therapy. He has 70 publications in international journals, supervised 40
postgraduate students, filed 8 patents and commercialized 3 products on
diagnostics. He has been awarded with 44 national and international awards for
the academic and research excellence including Ideas Inventions New Products -
(IENA), Nuremberg Germany; International Exhibition of Inventions: New
Technologies and Products, Geneva and Anugerah Inovasi Negara. He is an
associate member and the Committee member on „TOP RESEARCH
SCIENTISTS MALAYSIA‟ (TRSM) of Academy of Sciences Malaysia (ASM). He
was the former Vice Chancellor of AIMST University and currently serving as one
of the Board Governors of AIMST University, Kedah, Malaysia.

Prof. Dato’ Dr Aishah Bidin


Commissioner,
Human Rights Commission of Malaysia (SUHAKAM), Kuala Lumpur,
Malaysia

Professor Dato‟ Dr Aishah Bidin FASC Prof. Dato‟ Dr Aishah Bidin is a


Professor of Corporate and Insolvency Law at the Faculty of Law,
National University of Malaysia(UKM) and Vice Chairman and
Commissioner at the Human Rights Commission of Malaysia
(SUHAKAM). She is also the former Dean of the Faculty of Law, UKM
(2009-2014) and former Deputy Dean (Academic, Research and International
Relations) UKM (2000-2006). She has served as a legal advisor of UKM Holdings
(2008-2013), the corporate arm of UKM. She obtained her LLB (Hons) from
University of Malaya, Masters in Laws (LLM) from the University of Kent, and PhD
in Law from University of London, United Kingdom. Currently Aishah is a Council
Member and Fellow of the Academy of Sciences Malaysia (ASM) Aishah has
been an academic staff of the law faculty of UKM since 1984. During her Phd
programme in University of London in 1996, she was seconded to the law
practices of Messrs Allen & Overy (Banking and Securities Department) and
Messrs Travis, Smith and Braithwaite (Banking and Corporate Insolvency Unit),
both of which were based in London. At present she is representing the Human
Rights Commission of Malaysia as the Asia Pacific Representative in the Working
Group on Business and Human Rights (UN) in the Global Alliance National
Human Rights Institution (GANHRI). Within the context of the Human Rights
Commission of Malaysia, Aishah has had numerous roles within the organisation
including as the Commissioner heading the Policy, Law and International Treaties
at the Commission. This include among others formulating issues on Business
and Human Rights, women and children issues, right to health and access to
medicine and SDGs . Within the complaint and monitoring unit of the Commission,
she has to address and resolve complaints involving allegation of infringement of
a wide range of human rights related to business operations, including gender
discrimination in employment, exploitation of migrant workers, forced labour,
indigenious people and environmental rights. Apart from being a law professor at
UKM, she has been involved in various consultancy projects where she has
advised various government agencies in Malaysia relating to law reform and legal
policies. Her experiences range from formulating new laws, revising legal and
human rights strategies and policy development to programme implementation.

Prof. Dr. Mohd. Baidi Bahari


Dean
Faculty of Pharmacy, AIMST University, Semeling, 08100 Bedong,

Mohd Baidi Bahari is a Professor in Clinical Pharmacy currently serves


as the Dean, Faculty of Pharmacy, AIMST University. Previously, he
was the lecturer in Clinical Pharmacy at School of Pharmacy,
Universiti Sains Malaysia. During his tenure at Universiti Sains
Malaysia, he and his team have established the Clinical Pharmacy Program
leading to Master of Pharmacy (1992) and Doctor of Philosophy in Clinical
Pharmacy (2004), the first of its kind in Malaysia. He has supervised more than 10
PhD students and more than 150 Masters in Clinical Pharmacy students. He has
received more than 10 research grants from Malaysian Government and other
agencies. He is currently serves as one of the Malaysian Pharmacy Board
Evaluation Panel and Malaysian Qualification Agency Panel for the Accreditation
of the Pharmacy Programmes in Malaysia.

Professionally he is a registered pharmacist in Malaysia, he has served as the


member of Malaysian Board of Pharmacy from 2003 to 2006, Central Council
members of Malaysian Pharmaceutical Society from 2008 to 2012 and Secretary
of Malaysian Pharmaceutical Society, Kedah Perlis Branch from 2006 to 2012.
He was also the founder of Total Parenteral Nutrition Pharmacy and Oncology
Pharmacy Services in Malaysia. He has conducted series seminars and
workshops on Parenteral Nutrition Pharmacy and Oncology Pharmacy in various
ASEAN Countries mainly Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand and Brunei Darussalam.
He has assisted several hospitals in Indonesia and Brunei Darussalam to
establish the Parenteral Nutrition Pharmacy and Oncology Pharmacy services.
Prof. Dr. Maznah Wan Omar

Professor of Marketing
Faculty of Business Management, Universiti Teknologi MARA, Malaysia

Maznah Wan Omar (PhD) is a Professor of Marketing at the Faculty of


Business Management, Universiti Teknologi MARA, Malaysia. Formerly
the Head of the Post Graduate Study, she is now the Chairman of the
Public Interest Center of Excellence at the university.

She has taught in a wide variety of postgraduate courses including the Advanced
Management Program for senior managers where she taught the Business at the
Base of the Pyramid course. She has also examined a number of PhD theses
focusing areas such as Marketing, Organizational Behaviour, Retailing, Business-
to-Business Marketing Strategy, Strategic Perspectives on Non-Profit
Management, and Consumer Behaviour.

With more than 25 years of teaching and research experience, she has served on
a number of academic and administrative committees including the board of
academic reviewers for AIMST University, University Technology MARA and more
than five professional organizations.

She has more than 153 publications including in high-impact journals


(SCOPUS/ISI Thomson) and various conference proceedings. She was also the
Guest Editor of PERTANIKA Special Issue Journal (SCOPUS indexed) 2010 and
WASJ- World of Applied Science Journal (indexed with ISI Thomson) and the
Chief Editor of the Journal of Social Issues in Marketing.

Professor Dr Maznah received her first degree in Human Resource Management


from Western Michigan University (1985 -1987), USA and her MBA in
International Business from University of Bridgeport (1988), USA. She completed
her Ph.D in Retailing, from Universiti Sains Malaysia (2005 – 2007).
Dr. Kalaiarasu M. Peariasamy

Head of Department
Clinical Research Centre and Paediatric Dentistry at Sungai Buloh
Hospital

Dr Kalaiarasu graduated with a BDS (University Malaya) in 1985. He went to UK


for postgraduate training at the Barts and London Hospital and obtained his MSc
in Children‟s Dentistry (University London) and the Intercollegiate Membership in
Paediatric Dentistry from the Royal College of Surgeons of England and Glasgow.
In addition, he became a Dental Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of
England, Glasgow and Edinburgh.

Dr. Kalaiarasu is the Head of Department of Clinical Research Centre and


Paediatric Dentistry at Sungai Buloh Hospital. He is a distinguished recipient of
the Jens Andreasen Award for Traumatology from the International Association of
Paediatric Dentistry and serves on the International Editorial Board of JISPPD. He
is an invited speaker to national and international conferences for the
management of paediatric oral trauma, oral diseases and oral aspects of cleft lip
and palate. He has published over 10 research papers and has contributed the
chapter on “Cleft Lip & Palate” in 3rd Edition of Textbook of Paediatric Dentistry
Ed. Shobha Tandon (Paras).

Dr. Asral Bahari Jambek


Associate Professor

Dr. Asral Bahari Jambek is Associate Professor at the School of


Microelectronics Engineering, Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP),
and was a Programme Chairperson for the Electronics Engineering
Degree Programme, UniMAP. He has more than 15 years experience
in integrated circuit and system design in both the industry and
academic sectors, and has been involved at various levels of VLSI design such as
transistor modelling, digital circuit design, analogue circuit design, logic synthesis
and physical place and route, architecture design and algorithm development.
Currently, he is actively researching new techniques to minimize power
consumption in portable system-on-chip design. His research interests include
integrated circuits and systems design, digital signal processing (DSP), low power
algorithms and architectures design, and image and video processing.
Puan Norhana Nawawi Suri
Deputy Director
Customer Care Department, Regulatory Affairs Division,
Pharmaniaga Logistics Sdn Bhd. Malaysia

Pharmacist by profession with 22 years of experience in both


multinational and local pharmaceutical industries. Throughout the years, involved
with various role including sales & marketing, regulatory, manufacturing, medical,
clinical trials and pharmacovigilance.

Some of the key roles and responsibilities:


 Product registration activities for Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei which
include New Chemical Entities, Health Supplements, OTC and Herbal
products
 Coordinate, initiate and manage international multicentres Phase III and IV
clinical trials in various therapeutic areas including cardiovascular,
respiratory and neurology
 Manage all tasks related to Contract Research Organization (including
contract negotiation, service agreement and performance monitoring)
 Managed contract manufacturing project with local pharmaceutical
company (from R&D to production) • Responsible for all medical & medico-
marketing matters and serves as a resource centre for drug information of
the company
 Responsible for pharmacovigilance activities
 Responsible for initiating and managing local pharmacoeconomic projects
 Development and implementing local standard operating procedures for the
company
 Manage all task related to trademark, patent and policy matters
 Involved with regional project in developing strategic medical business plan
for Asian region.

Joined Pharmaniaga in 2015 and currently managing Customer Care Department,


responsible in leading and motivating a team of staff to ensure that the company
is providing excellent service to the customers at all time.
