Good morning judges, teachers and all our dear friends, it’s an honour for class

5/4 to be here with everyone today in the contest “I want to be a scientist”. Let
me introduce my team. There are four members in our team. My name is
……….. And this is my teammate…………..

Hello, everyone. My name is ……………….. I’m from class…………. And the

next person is……….

My name is………………… I’m so happy to join this contest. This is my

friend.

Hello, my name is ……………….- the last member of the team. I’m from
class…. of Nguyen Hien Primary school. And our performance is going to start
now.

Waste is a significant global issue. Increasing volumes of waste are being

generated as the global population and living standard rise. The environmental
impact is serious which should be taken into consideration. Vietnamese per
capita plastic waste is the third highest in Southeast Asia after increasing more
than 10-fold in the last three decades.

Waste generation of people leads to many bad effects to the environment and
human life such as water pollution, air pollution, heath risks, climate change
and wildlife damage… Seeing the serious impact of waste on our lives, we
should find a solution to reduce the amount of trash, specifically in our school
Nguyen Hien primary school. With the purpose of raising students’ awareness
keeping our school clean, we create a product called ‘Smart cleaning robot’.

Before this product is invented, there are some garbage cans for students to put
their litter. But there is a fact that students can’t distinguish the kinds of waste to
put in the right bin. So how can this problem be solved? That’s a big question.
Our creation will make it more convenient for teachers and students to clean the
classrooms and eliminate the trash.

The robot is made of metal which is light and easy to carry. It weighs 3,5
kilograms and its height is 1 meter tall. It has a head, a body, two arms and two
legs. At the top of the robot, there is solar panel to get the solar energy for it to
work so we can use this product effectively in the morning about eight or nine
hours. At the back of the robot, there is a hole where we can put the litter in.
The system inside will classify the kind of waste and keep in different
categories like plastic, paper and food. The robot’s legs can move and below
them, there are systems of cleaning and sweeping the floor. It can move along
the hall of the classrooms easily and take litter from the students. On the
shoulders of the product are two fans which are used to dry the floor so that
students will not slip or fall over. There is a small speaker inside the robot.
When it comes to collect the trash, the speaker will create the sound to let the
children know it’s time to put the trash in the robot.

With this invention, students will have a chance to care for the cleanness of
classrooms and school. They will be more responsible for keeping everything
clean and tidy. The robot can both use solar energy and batteries. This means
we don’t have to spend a lot of money on fuel and we don’t have to be worried
about the sudden power cut. It is very economical and safe for school and
students. When the robot moves to the classrooms, students don’t have to travel
a long way to throw the trash.

Smart cleaning robot is a very useful creation for our school. Class 5/4 hopes
that this invention will be a better solution for classifying and cleaning our
school. Having this product, our classrooms and school will be cleaner and
cleaner. Students of Nguyen Hien primary school will have a friend when
sharing the responsibilities of protecting environment.

It’s the end of our presentation. Thanks for listening.
