Hello, my name is ……………….- the last member of the team. I’m from class 5/3
of Nguyen Hien Primary school. And our performance is going to start now.

Water is very necessary for our lives. Three- quarters of the Earth’s surface is
covered in water. We cannot survive without water, and we really need it to
produce food and even energy. But how we manage water is a big problem. Or as
Conservation International puts it “We need a global transformation of the way the
world manages fresh water.” We live in a world where climate change rainfall
patterns and increasing the likelihood of drought. On the other hand, the
appearance of storms or hurricanes which mainly causes flood also leads to the
lack of fresh water in many areas. Consequently, we should use water in a very
reasonable way.

Nowadays, water is used in many fields of life such as: personal need, industry,
manufacture of farming. So how can water be used suitably in Nguyen Hien
primary school? That’s a big question. Our team thinks that our new product
should be related to watering system for school. In our school, there is a big garden
with a variety of flowers, plants and vegetables. Moreover, in most of the
classrooms, small plants and flowers are grown with the purpose of decoration. If
there is a smart watering system, it will be easier for teachers and students to take
care of the plants and also save water.

Our product is called “Smart watering system”. It has a shape like a train with
three carriages. The train is made of light metal which is likely to decompose and
not very heavy. There is a solar panel on the top of the train so that the system can
absorb solar energy which is the basis for the train to move. As a result, this
product is encouraged to use in the morning which is very suitable for the time our
school works approximately eight or nine hours per day. There are six wheels in
total below the carriages. It can move along the garden or the corridor of the
classrooms easily. In each carriage of the train, there is space for storing the water
and there is also a system of water pipes which can pump out the water into two
sides of the train.

Before having this product, we see that teachers and students usually water the
plants by using the pipes with hands or using the sprayers which is not very quick
and not time consuming. Sometimes the plants aren’t watered in the right time due
to many reasons, which affects their natural development. The number of plants
and flowers in Nguyen Hien primary school is really high so we need a product to
enhance the process of watering.

With this invention, students will have a chance to care for the plants by adding the
water to the system or directing it to the plants that haven’t been watered. The
machine just uses solar energy so it doesn’t waste any other kinds of energy like
electricity, coal, fuel or gasoline... This means we don’t have to spend a lot of
money on fuel. It is very economical and safe for school and students.
Furthermore, the product is light so that students can carry it up and down the
stairs of the school; unlike the previous pipes which are heavy and difficult to
move a long way. In addition, the machine is adjusted to work with the right
amount of water so we don’t have to be worried about wasting water. When the
plants and flowers are watered at the right time, they will grow well and
beautifully.

Smart watering system is a very useful creation for our school. Class 5/3 hopes that
this invention will make watering process easier and effective for not only teachers
but also students of Nguyen Hien Primary school. Having this product, our garden
will be greener and more beautiful with many plants and flowers. Students’
responsibilities and awareness will be raised in caring and protecting the
environment and water source.
