Abstract
Vaccines are a simple, safe, and effective way to protect people from disease before exposure.
Vaccines train the immune system to make antibodies, just as it does when exposed to a disease.
However, because vaccines only contain dead or attenuated microorganisms such as viruses or
bacteria, they do not cause disease . Until now, the COVID-19 vaccine has received a lot of
rejection from the public, especially the elderly. Especially for the elderly who live in villages
who have not received much information about the COVID-19 vaccine, so that people are
more confident about the issues circulating regarding the COVID-19 vaccine. Therefore,
many people are unwilling and afraid to be vaccinated because there is little knowledge about
COVID 19 . Lack of knowledge about the COVID-19 pandemic can lead to various kinds of
speculation about the spread of the Corona virus, giving rise to anxiety that can lower a
person's immune system . With a decrease in a person's immune system, the virus is easy to
attack someone and can threaten a person's life, so the government needs to provide good
information about the COVID 19 pandemic. This study is a quantitative study with a research
design using a cross sectional approach. The sampling technique used is non-probability
sampling . with the type of total sampling and the size of the sample taken is 36 people. The
results of data analysis using the Spearman Rank statistical test showed a P value of 0.000 <
0.005 which indicated Ho was rejected and Ha was accepted or there was a relationship
between the level of knowledge of the elderly and the anxiety of the elderly in receiving the
COVID 19 vaccine in Kertasari Village, Suradadi District. The elderly are expected to know
the knowledge of the COVID-19 vaccine and not feel anxious about receiving the COVID-19
vaccine.
